Gentille had an article on the athletic today with 10 potential trades for the pens. Nothing really exciting or worth noting but probably more realistic than what we all hope for.

Even though he's left handed, I'm still on the Miles Wood train. Poor man's Josh Anderson. Has Penguin written all over him.

The Gentile article, unless I missed it, didn't mention any quote from JR stating he's going after a depth forward. It stated that it was more likely the pens pursued a forward over a dman even before the ZAR injury.

I thought someone said they heard him on the radio today saying that.

Oh ok. That I have no idea about. I'm pretty sure the Gentile article didn't make any mention of JR specifically stating a depth forward was the target.

I looked back and it was Burgh4Life saying he heard/saw him say it on NHL.com today.

Pageau?

If the price is right, sure, why not. He's better than a few currently taking a roster spot...can play C or wing ...very fast ...great PKer.

Yea at first I was saying no to Pageau, but now that the pens grabbed Zucker I'm not against it. I'd still love to grab a LD though.

He does have a decent release and is right handed...24 goals so far this season 4 of which PP.

Also, not advocating this but I could see Ruth going Pageau/Borowiecki for picks/prospect and Bjugstad dump.

Yeah sorry should have clarified. Those were separate posts. JR mentioned depth forward on radio.. nothing to do with the Gentille article.

Actually on another podcast today, JR specially mentioned "veteran forward". Unless he simply means ...not a guy from WBS... I dont like what that's adding up to.

He's in OTT. His SKATR analytics are stronger than ZAR and he's got 33 points in (frank)ing Ottawa, 14G/19A. He makes $800K. I know there's a strong need for a righty, but this would be a great veteran depth move.

Yea plus he fits our style, speed and quick plays. Good cheap pickup. Any LD out there like that lol

Totally forgot about Tyler Ennis. He was good in Toronto too. I’d go for it.

Not really. The closest would probably be Hamhuis. He's not great, but he's better than JJ.

I was joking there but hell of an answer haha. Honestly though I'm not liking this Dumo situation and even though the prices may be high, I still want a LD. Maybe even a guy with term.

I had to look it up... I can't believe hes 30 years old. I thought for sure he was like 37 by now.

He's interesting. The $800k doesnt even matter really if were look at a rentals. We can fit a cap hit up to $4M without even putting Jake on LTIR.

This very likely doesn't really matter, but I cant help but think about the Caps adding Dillon and the pens get one of the only guys in the NHL smaller than me haha.
