I think it was pretty clear they could only potentially keep one of Muzzin or Barrie, and the fact that they're trying to sign Muzzin says to me that it's pretty much decided Barrie is not staying. I suppose it's possible if he took a discount, but I'm not so sure I would even want that anyway.

With Muzzin not getting much of a raise (it sounds), and Ceci coming off the books, along with Horton and Clarkson, it'll be a very different cap situation next season I think.

I'm curious to see what Dubas does. A trade with someone like Kerfoot, Sandin and Liljegren either get more time, or just stay, and I think there is $5M? or $6M? I would assume they go after a stay at home guy. But who is there?

I personally find it odd that the Leafs made this trade with the team that they're racing for the last playoff spot.

Leafs need someone to fill a roster spot I guess, but I'm suspicious that Florida somehow got the better of the Leafs here.

Trade a good forward for a good RHD.
Trade Barrie for a forward.

Yeah I feel the same way.

Could be a replacement for Johnsson since he will be out 6 months.

But I probably would have preferred Marchment get more of a look.

Evgeny Malgin is younger and has 180+ more NHL games at this point.

MM...although big, never really showed much in his..4 nhl games.

Where the leafs really an embarrassment?? I missed the game last night, but just looking at the boxscore and the shots on goal were 36-24 in favor of Toronto. Was Anderson just bad, or did Toronto throw a ton of wrist shots from center ice?

Wasnt andersen at all. He had one iffy goal.
Team D and caresy wasnt great.

Leafs have 4 regulation wins in their last 18 games. I was surprised to see that noted on Twitter.

Pens didn't need more than 15-16 shots to end the game with most of their goals being tap ins. Leafs took a lot of easy point shots and had a 5on3 but weren't really in the game at any point. It was pretty ugly from a Leaf perspective.

it's a great race to the bottom between MTL and TO for who will get the better pick at the draft...

Got rid of that much needed grit for another small fry

Thought I saw it wrong last night.

Wings something like 16-50 all year
but are 4-0 vs the haplessHabs.

And how many times can the Habs blow a 2 or 3 goal lead to lose. They going for some kinda record???

Is this a reaction to Johnsson not coming back and needing another NHL body or dominos for a bigger deal involving Kap or Kerfoot for a d-man?
