The fact that the Leafs have allowed as many goals as the Sens despite having strong possession numbers suggests a larger systemic flaw in their overall game concept.
I don't think if you added an all star Dman to the Leaf roster it would make that much difference in terms of the overall result. Forwards have to come back and support the D in their own end. - spatso
yes..you are getting close here....I am proud of you.

no team does well with sub par goalies...esp a team built like the Leafs.
...they have been sunk by the goalies..most of the year.
Fred should be relied on to be one of the best, like we have seen...its not happening this year

I'm not putting blame on Andersen for the first 4 Penguins goals last night. That 5th goal was a bad giveaway by him. Since Jan 1, heck since December, he hasn't been very good. - PatC80
he's been a sub .900 since December 1st. There's no debating that his numbers terrible.
The real question is why?
He had 3-4 years of very good/consistent numbers before December 1st.
Is it a slump or is it related to the change in coaching/system?
Chicken or the egg?
Either way ....Campbell gets the start tomorrow and if he's good we may see him get a run of games. |

because he's a middle of the pack starter, and the d isn't helping him.

I think Matthews, Nylander have been great overall. JT and Marner have been good.
They are the reason the Leafs are as high in a playoff spot. Freddy has been abysmal, the D after the injuries have been horrible, bottom 6 looks like they don’t give a (frank).
Some people have to stop thinking with frustration. The top 4 guys have been the team the last few months. Absolutely no one else is stepping up to the plate.
Kap, Johnnson, Freddy, Barrie. That’s the main group of guys that really need to look in the mirror. - Santo_44
Spezza looks like he gives franks
Kapanen has been getting into it lately, but he has never been a consistent producer. Reminds me Grabner - all the speed in the world but bricks for hands. Makes the odd dangle on the breakaway, but that's all you can hope for. |

I'm not sure what it is.. I fully expected him to be a top 10 goalie this year, because that's what he is capable of..
I don't know if it's fatigue, age, or if opposing teams have figured him out.. Whatever it is, goaltending has been our downfall this year

I don't ever remember Reimer stealing a game for us. Andersen has stolen plenty. He's off these days, but he's had a much better career than Reimer lol. Not saying he's even top 10, but come on now. |

I personally find it odd that the Leafs made this trade with the team that they're racing for the last playoff spot.
Leafs need someone to fill a roster spot I guess, but I'm suspicious that Florida somehow got the better of the Leafs here. |
