It's a mix of funny, shameful and overall you're glad it happened.

Coach was fired and that hasn't done much. If you can't respect babcock in the room, how can you expect them to show up for this guy.

Mats and Wendel would never put up with this kind of nonsense in the room, bring them in and pep the boys up with a heart to heart.

If that doesn't work, strip the C off JTs chest. Kerfoot is a guy who the boys will listen to. Guy goes to the corners.

Trade Nylander, dipsy doodles and won't take it to the net.

Marner still has value in the eyes of the league. Look to swing for a PK subban or Risto in Buffalo. Heck Weber would be a great pickup.

Gotta fix the D, but without leadership what the hell are we doing

Jets are being crushed by CAP. Demelo was about the only Dman they could afford. Dorion did Chevy a huge favour. We will see if there is another Jets/Sens deal this summer.
- spatso

He seems to do a lot of favours to a lot of GMs. Sakic sure is grateful.

Or perhaps he's just a bonehead and gets bent over in trades.

Serious question about Dumba

The consensus is that he is a young, physical offensive dman who has issues defensively

Isn’t that the coaches job to teach defensive systems and correct any issues?

Do we not have any confidence in our coaches?

If a guy can skate, hit and has a big shot.....it seems much easier to tell him where to stand than develop a skill set

- mr.sir

You are not wrong, but how has that been working out for the last 40 years or so, except for brief success under Pat Burns.

Kerfoot?

If anyone on the team deserves the C it would be Hyman.

we have 22 million tied up in 2 players - one of them isn't doing much more than chipping in the odd assist these days and I expect more out of 22 million. You don't like it? Too bad. Reality sucks sometimes!

And for the record, I never once spoke highly of Johnsson, I've been hoping the Leafs were going to trade him in a package for a D man.

- Lucas.Neilson

I think Matthews, Nylander have been great overall. JT and Marner have been good.

They are the reason the Leafs are as high in a playoff spot. Freddy has been abysmal, the D after the injuries have been horrible, bottom 6 looks like they don’t give a (frank).

Some people have to stop thinking with frustration. The top 4 guys have been the team the last few months. Absolutely no one else is stepping up to the plate.

Kap, Johnnson, Freddy, Barrie. That’s the main group of guys that really need to look in the mirror.

Agreed, possible exception being Spezza. He has been a good pickup and looks like he gives a crap most nights.

Yeah, he's okay. He looks like he's developing into a lesser version of Morgan Rielly.

I agree that JT and Marner have been good. That's where I'm wanting more, they should be great for that much $. It's not so much the points they put up, but the 200ft effort every night - sometimes there are big chunks where I don't even hear marner or Tavares. I hear Hyman and Matthews.

even our depth scoring and defensive scoring has come to a hault - its ugly right now!!! really ugly

and yes, Andersen is fighting the puck.

Marners number might look good, but that's all that does.
He doesn't look nearly like the player he was last year- no urgency, no creativity, easily taken off the puck etc. etc. etc.
Not sure what to do to get him dialled in, but he's looking like one of the most over rated players in the league at this point...

- Liger4

Time will tell if he steps it up in the playoffs or if next season he's better but right now he doesn't look like a 10.9 million dollar player.

Just wanna do a quick reality check

1. Babcock was kind of a Richard and perhaps didn't deserve respect. If I had a boss that did some of the things that he supposedly did, I probably wouldn't want to work very hard for him either. Just sayin'

2. Kerfoot will never be part of the core of this team, not really practical

3. Most of Nylander's shots and scoring chances have come from the slot

Agreed we gotta fix the D, but there's some kind of mental issue that just prevents them from even playing for each other. Is it the constant distractions of playing in a market like Toronto? Is it conflicting personalities and there's just 0 chemistry and they don't like each other? Is Tavares actually a bad captain?

Spezza is great. Hope they resign him.

The rest of the bottom 6 can (frank) off. Even Engvall the past few weeks but maybe it’s just a product of playing with guys who seem to not care about playing well.

Kap is the best player in that group and he is getting out played and out worked by a 37 year old getting paid 700k.

Idk it’s just really tough to fault any of those 4...they are doing their job. There’s a lot of other guys that need to pull up their socks.

we got so much damned money tied up in Marner/Tavares and Hyman is a better all round player at this point.
- Lucas.Neilson

Hyman is not a better all round player than JT.

Sorry, thats ridiculous

I like what hyman brings but JT even when not producing offensively, he does a lot of other things on the ice and defensively that dont get recognized

It's not that they lost. It's the effort they give game after game, it's piss poor.

It's honestly so frustrating to watch. Last night was the first time I turned off a Leaf game in ages, and that's saying something..

Too funny!

You realize Leafs have given up exactly same number of goals as Sens so far this season.
