Let's not pretend every goal against is a 2 on 0 breakaway, he's had a few bad performances and hasn't been handling the puck well. The 5th goal last night was a good example.
- PatC80

I never said it was, but lets not pretend every goalie doesnt allow bad goals.

For what it’s worth, Steve Simmons tweeted that Leafs fans will like Malgin.
- Atomic Wedgie

Good enough for me then. We never gave up much for starters.

Biggest signing in NHl history was forgotten I guess.

It happens,

Tavares is only an important signing when it fits a negative spin on the team

Leafs are at 70 points and there are calls for Dubas’ head. Canucks are at 69 points and Benning’s head is going to be carved into the side of Grouse Mountain.

expectation...its a hell off a thing

Hitting, just means you don't have the puck, if you miss the hit, you're out of position..

If you're afraid of your own shadow, you give the opposing player a huggie-poo as he shovels one in your net.

Umm, you cant have the puck all the time.

So they shouldn't hit cause they may miss and be out of position?

Umm ok.

The D is rarely in position anyway.
So it works.
Get him.

The Leafs don't cycle, and can't defend the cycle.

It's a vicious cycle.

This site needs a sarcasm button..

Hitting is an important part of the game, it is still a necessity. With that said, we don't need to overpay for a guy like Dumba because he hits.. We can just get someone cheaper that hits.. Ben Chiarot would be a good option

He's been much better than expected all year.

Didn't stop us to suck but hey, it turned into a good signing.

Babcock had been asking for additions on defense for over a year though. not like this was a big surprise this season (oh wait - barrie and ceci were top4 d-men in dubas' book).

the obvious solution is to trade Nylander.
he's a very good player (at least he's got some very good specific skills) which makes him the ideal piece in a trade for a young d-partner for rielly.

Dubas is very risk-averse though - I haven't seen anything from him which was a big move.

Jesus H some of the poop you say is a little silly.

Tyson Barrie IS a top 4 dman, it's ridiculous to think otherwise. Cody Ceci was what they had to take on to get rid of Zaitsev's salary. They dumped a long term salary for one that was over in a year (for a player that was already qualified).
