please give me the update on the "leafs on a xx point pace since Keefe is head coach".
going soon to under 100points for sure...

babcock wasn't the problem.
it's Dubas and his awful vision on how to assemble a team around 4 core players (Tavares, Marner, Mattthews, Rielly) and what type of additional pieces are required.

Dubas got a guy that can play in the NHL. Marchment can't. Dubas has a Calder cup. He knows how to win with the Marlies.

Malgin...

Why?

- aminnes

Because he's better than Petan/Bracco/Timo etc.

It rarely motivates young players coming out of entry level if they receive their max contract possible. We seen this many, many times. When players that have already won cups like the Hawks, the club already knows they are motivated. The Leafs take way too many shifts off and look content to be a middling group at this point save a few depth players.

If Andersen gets shelled again tomorrow night, then might as well move him at the trade deadline.. Campbell can be the starter.. The team trusts Campbell more than Andersen at this point..

Also, I'm kidding.

- PatC80

fortunately, whether he should or shouldn't - Dubas wouldn't have the stones to trade Andersen.

unfortunately he probably doesn't have the stones to trade Barrie, which at this point is the only sensible thing to do.... the Kadri for Kerfoot/Barrie trade was a good risk to take... the possilbility that it might turn out well were good... it just didn't . The real mistake would be to continue down that path - oblivous to the outcome.

trade Barrie now while you still might get something for him - and that would give the "honeys" an excuse/reason to absolve them of the uninspired play.

I know you're kidding but, I recall seeing some stats that Andersen seems to get better with a bigger workload. I wonder if handing more starts to Campbell just sinks Andersen.....

Leafs under Keefe have 48 points in 38 games. Extrapolating over 82 games, that would be 104 points, 302 goals for, 265 against.

If you take Babs’ 22 points in 23 games, and then extrapolate Keefe’s current winning percentage over 59 games, Leafs are on track to finish this year with 97 points.

So it was a Marlies deal?

If he's replacing Goat, that's a bit weird. He's almost a foot shorter, and 65 pounds lighter. Doesn't really produce anymore than Goat, maybe a tiny bit.

It must be a Marlies deal only.

perhaps, but I would think that Korshkov who scored in his debut probably could fill that role, or it could have been Petan...

but my primary point was - regardless of the injury to Johnsson, the primary focus probably shouldn't be on acquiring another forward at this point...

defense perhaps?

- BorjeFan4Ever

What defenseman was Marchment going to get us?

He wouldn't even be throw in for a defenseman.

Marlies must be pumped.

Gonna be great to have the shortest/smallest team in the AHL as the development team for the NHL.

good plan.

btw... which guys from the Marlies have been the biggest surprises? best results?

The
@MapleLeafs
have acquired forward Denis Malgin from Florida in exchange for Mason Marchment.

- senstroll

marchment fans are crying right now.
dubas is cracking under the pressure, not addressing the real needs of the team and is instead wasting time on deals like this. the leafs need some elite defensive players whether they play on the blue line or at forward, they need at least a couple, if not 3 or 4. denis malgin is not evgeni malkin, this player does not address needs of the team other than roster filler because johnsson is out 6 months, a role that marchment could have easily filled while gaining nhl experience. you need to bolster your defense with defensemen that can actually play defense primarily and then add a defensive forward or 2 is secondary. malgin addresses none of these needs and is a right hand centre, why is he taking gauthier's spot? when did malgin establish himself as anything more than gauthier? come on dubas, come on.

my issue is more that the 104 is already quite a bit down (obviously) from the 112-120 'points paces' some babcock haters were highlighting so much the last couple of weeks.
if leafs lose vs pens next game, it's 101 point pace, etc. etc.

keefe's points totals are mainly because of the easy nov/dec schedule in my opinion; leafs are just a .500 team the way dubas has built them.

Marchment wasn't going to get a NHL defenseman in return. Just like he didn't really get an NHL forward in return.

Leafs/Marlies just got a guy who's above Nic Petan on the depth chart - nothing more - nothing less.

This deal is a nothing burger - remember Lindholm for Petan? Petan's playing for the Marlies. Lindholm is playing for the Bruins.

'nuff said.

Andersen struggled in the playoffs when he was handed a "bigger workload."
Andersen struggles when he's given rest and time off..

I'm starting to think maybe Andersen isn't as good as we had hoped for at the start of this season.

Listning to Lebrun debate with Button. Lebrun saying the Leafs are still young, are they really? And comparing them to Washington.
Button says let's see them win a Presidents trophy or win round in the playoffs before we start comparing them to Washington. Oh snap!

.500 team? Jeez. They've just magically played at a 100+ point pace for almost the entirety of 3 years now, and they're just a 500 team eh? that's a bottom 10 team.....

I think you're a troll. Not a particularly smart one either. most of what I've seen you post seems to fit that, and your name sure makes it seem that way too.
