Fixed.
But freddy still needed to come up with 2 more saves. Gotta keep it to 3. - Tumbleweed
I was going to write something about MM on that 5th goal but I ran outta ink.
He's been an invisible turnover machine for weeks. |

I've blacked out most of the night but if I recall ...
goal 1 ...tap in - wonky coverage by Holl
goal 2 ...Marincin poor coverage
goal 3 ...tap in - poor coverage by Marincin
goal 4 ...tap in - poor coverage by Holl
goal 5 - Andersen with a bad play ...
And you're right ...Matthews had some nice shifts but the other big $$ guys were invisible. JT Willie and MM - nada. - The Law
You saw that too, weird his save percentage wasnt better tonight
Thank you for seeing, I thought I was going crazy for a minute. |

I didn’t see the game but I just finished watching the highlights. No goalie could have stopped 4 of those goals. Cross crease point blank.
His fault on the giveaway but that happens. - shack67
People on here have said he sucks with zero evidence or coherent argument. But one thing he's never been objectively good at is handling the puck. That one you can blame him for but at that point, you could tell by his body language, he had given up on this team as much as they left him out to dry. |

Ya, Spezza was fine. I thought Matthews was pretty good. He was throwing his body around for a change - I've noticed he's been using his body more since the Clifford trade. For me the trouble spots were Holl, Marincin and Sandin ...and the lack of finish from the big guys. And that was my same complaint after the Sabres game. - The Law
Honestly Matthews was fine. Lacking a bit of compete in some spots but overall still best player for the leafs.
Like you said I had the same issues with the d.
Holl was facing the wrong way on the 1st goal.
Marincin was 10’ in front of his guy on the second goal while he was alone tipping it in front.
I honestly can’t tell if these guys are idiots or just don’t want to play the system. I’m almost leaning towards complete idiots.
Kapenen might have the worst IQ I’ve seen in a player. I’m pretty sure he tried to steal the puck from marner on a play when he thought he was going faster then him. |

HOW?! How does one expect him to just miracle his ass to making 2 unstoppable goals not go in?
How can anybody logically say that with any sincerity? |

Just trying to be realistic, i have no problem calling out anyone on this team. It seems like that a lot this year...anyways, we’re still hanging in there and need to gel over the next 10 if we want to do anything this year. |

Holl is a 3rd pair RHD, end of story. Any night he plays more than 18 minutes is a night you're expecting to give up more goals.
Leafs need:
Rielly / #1 RHD - 24 minutes a night (PP+PK for both)
Muzzin / #3 RHD - 20 minutes a night (PK / PK)
Sandin / Holl - 16 minutes a night (PP/ PK)
If any of those guys are playing more than that, you got problems. |

Not sure but it’s seems like the opposing goalie can do it so why can’t andersen.
Leafs have a talented group and they can put a lot dangerous shots on goal but somehow Andersen gets scored on.
He accountable just like everyone else on the team

A large overlooked Point....
Not scoring on a 5x3 for over a minute is a real issue... with the offensive firepower this team has .. that simply cannot ever happen ... and it’s happened twice in the last two weeks...
A goal there and the game possibly changes direction ... |

Sorry but it doesn't work that way. The chances Pittsburgh had were not the same as the chances the Leafs had. If the Leafs had 4 tap-ins like that, they would have won 6-5.
He's accountable for the 1 goal he was at fault for. Shrugging shoulders and saying "well he's on the team, he's to blame too" is just as logical as saying "well, he's on the ice, he gets a minus". Blame him for what he earns blame for, otherwise, stop blaming players for unreasonable reasons. |

Agreed
Not sure why marner thinks he has to shove it to tavares in the slot and keep handcuffing him with the guys collapsing on him.
Not sure if it’s a set play but they need to rethink their pp. it’s stale again. Need to keep switching things up so it’s not predictable. |

You think he was good.

Coming from a coach with a game plan to win 5-4 and force the goalie to stand on his head. - JohnFergusonJr
This coach seems to think that his game plan isn’t flawed at all. The goalies don’t quite understand every time a goal is scored under his system it’s their fault.
If Frederick Anderson played for the Blues last year they would have won the Stanley cup with him playing every game.

Yes and no. Give him Engvall, Mikheyev; guys with some natural skills and you'll see Tavares elevate them. Give him poop bags like Kerfoot and well, good luck.
Also, Tavares use to be a cycle machine in Long Island. But the Leafs don't play that way at all. They need to get him some linemates that can dig in the corners and get back to that cycle game. That's why Hyman always works well with Tavares. - JohnFergusonJr
The Leafs must not have a cycle game i their system, they almost never cycle. |

What could he have done better or differently to help the team?
People are literally asking for miracle saves on multiple plays and think it's a reasonable ask of a goalie.
Spectacular saves should be miracles, not expectations. |
