Was looking at stats yesterday. Andersen has cost the leafs about 3 wins with below avg play. 6 points if he was just average.

Some teams get much better then that. With similar chances against.

Would bump them to 5th in the league or so.

It's an interesting question .....chicken or the egg ...

Andersen has been solid for 3/4 years. Really consistent numbers year over year. Not the best in the league but slightly better than average.

This year he starts slow and then gets really hot in November.

December through now his numbers are poop. Way below his norms.

Keefe took over in late November and immediately "loosened the strings".

I seriously don't know if it's as simple as Freddy's been off for 10 weeks (after a pretty consistent 3 or 4 years) or has this system left him hung out to dry?

Umm this loss wasnt on andersen.
So, no he doesn't have to earn it back.

Just yet.

Campbell is on a winning streak right now.

Andersen is an underwear streak right now.

Play Campbell.

Why is Marincin playing, why is Anderson starting, ugh
- Ralphb1967

Marincin’s birthday.

Andersen is supposedly the starter.

Exactly. It's both. Andersen hasn't played very good, but the club plays a dumb all offence system and mostly employs offensive guys.

As far as this game goes, really can only pin the 5th goal on Andersen.
The first 4 were a result of terrible d-zone coverage. I mean, how many goalies would stop back door shots from cross crease passes? That's how the Pens scored 3 of their goals. Another was a tip from right in front of him.

Marinpoop was directly responsible for missed assignments on 2 goals. Holl guilty on another one. Just awful.

Much better than slightly above average. Same SV% as Rask the past 5 years. On this defensively dogpoop team. Facing the most shots in the NHL, playing the 4th most games.

Pretty much what a lot of people have said. He doesn’t get a pass tonight. He needs to be better too.

Ya know, I asked myself the same question until it finally dawned on me,,,, We are showcasing him. Some team out there is actually begging for his services. Up the ante Kyle. Settle for nothing less than a second rounder!
