Andersen played for one of the best defensive teams in the league in Anaheim. The Leafs d has regressed this year. He is a middle of the pack goalie and needs a much better defensive club in order to win with. Even last year they got away with a lot. The best goalies in the league don't get 1 shutout a year. Having said that, he has been pretty blah by his standards this year.

He's not even (frank)ing close to Bernier.

Find when Bernier was 7th in NHL SV% over a 5 year period among starters having faced the most shots and playing the 4th most games.

You won't find it because it never happened. Bernier, at best, had ONE season where he had top 10 numbers. Andersen has consistently been top 10 for the past 5 years.

Having played 4th most games and facing the most shots means he's been heavily relied upon (on a bad defensive team) and still had the 7th best SV%. Same SV% as Rask, .917 over the past 5 years.

Defensive players and coaching has been worse than the goaltending.

Time and time again, it's Andersen bailing out the Leafs horrible team defense, not the other way around.

(frank)ing astounding how people could watch this team and blame Andersen of all people after all he's done for this team the past 5 years. They'd be even more (frank)ed than they already are without him.
