Tampa, Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington.

We are not of that calibre.

Trading for a #3 defenceman doesn't get us there.

Stand Pat, roll the dice.

We probably have enough to beat out Florida to make the playoffs.

And then get embarrassed in five.

- Atomic Wedgie

They need a top pair RHD, 2nd pair RHD and more lunch pail forwards with bigger bodies, better work ethics and more determination.

And a coach that plays a style that works in the playoffs.

Not happening overnight. Might not happen with this GM at all.

Do you really think we should trade more futures to bolster this mess?
- Aetherial

No i dont.
Leave the team as is.

If they lose the next 2 games.

trade Barrie - for assets, picks or prospects - whatever.

pick up a fill in expiring FA for the duration of the season... I'm guessing Bogosian might be a little cheap right now.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Barrie would get us a late 2nd at best.

It makes more sense to the Leafs to keep him, make the playoffs and have a Scrooge McDuck bath in the proceeds from two playoff games.

Without average goaltending any team is in trouble. .833 over a stretch of games that long is horrific. Is Freddy still injured?

It was all tip ins..Andersen hasn't had a chance in months

Trade Barrie, no question.

I just dont want to see Kapanen, Nylander, draft picks, or anything else of value traded for some castaway from another team that won't make a bit of difference because the team refuses to put in the work or bother with defense

If you want to talk about a real hockey trade for one of these guys for a younger defenseman who may actually grow with the team over the next coupe years, by all means.

I just don't want to buy expensive bandaids for a core that hasn't shown they have the desire or work ethic to win.

His play has dropped massively. True, he stood on his head for years, but this isn't like a gradual decline, this is a nose dive.
- gravyface

The Campbell trade may be even more important than they realized when they made it.

So Marner.
- Steven_Seagull

Yeah, the guy who'd be leading the team in points if he didn't get hurt is better, sorry. Big surprise that when he plays with Tavares, career high in goals. When he plays with Matthews, career high in goals.

100% agree.

It is horrible to watch, but these guys need to figure it out and I don't think they are any less of a team without Barrie anyway.

Poor Clifford, thought he was coming to a team that was better than the crumbling LA Kings.

that's probably exactly what would happen even if they go get a #3 d man.

I dunno, a lot of average / below average D going for 2nds. Squeezing a 1st out of a sucker contender (pretender) isn't completely out of the question. Or at least a top prospect that could develop into a useful ELC player or trade chip to replace Barrie with.

I follow a few sens fans on twitter. They are all tweeting about the leafs... On a sens game night.

Not even interested in Thier own team

- senstroll

With how much leafs fans bragged over the summer and since keefe got hired about how awesome the team is...why wouldn't they.

Let him have fun, they need this

Barrie isn't the difference between the playoffs or missing with this team right now.

Im not gonna go full bumhole UG or max and act like I've identified Alex stalock or some random soup can as some obvious solution that everyone else is to stupid to see and proceed to parade it down everyone's throat for months on end and arrogantly spew that they're wrong anytime they say anything different to support my point. I'm not that hung up on it.

I don't know what the answer is.

I just know Andersen, like a whole bunch of bumholes on this team, have a whole bunch of poop holes in their game that they better fix in a hurry or this team is golfing in April.

- joel878

Sure, I’ll agree 99%

8-5 Leafs

He'd get a first easily, you're crazy.

Have you seen some of the prices out there? Scandella and Dillon got 2nd round picks. Blake Coleman got a 1st.

Might actually be addition by subtraction defensively. Offensively, give the minutes to Sandin / Rielly when he gets back.

Trade Barrie and recoup some picks.

A late second?

Sure even Marco Scandella got that and a conditional pick...
