Been going on for years Joel.

He is a crappy goalie and Leafs fans want so badly to believe he is good that they ignore the numbers, the game 7 poopting the bed...

- Aetherial

Says the guy ignoring the numbers.

7th in SV% since 2015/2016, 1st in shots against, 4th most games played.

That's not a crappy goalie. You'd be wrong even if you said average because he is definitely a good goalie.

I mean sure, I can give you that.

We're talking two tap ins and one tip? Am I correct? So sure, let's give him those... It's a 3-2 game.

The real issue is we can debate this game to shreds... But how many games have his numbers been in the unacceptable range this season? How many taps in has he let in?

If we're being generous it might forgive 50%of his shortcomings. The other 50% is on him, and that's what everyone seems incapable of admitting.

- joel878

3 taps and a deflect

I’ll give you a poop goal for the one he gave away.

We’ve been allowing this a lot

Odd man rushes with high end shooter 90% of the time, it doesn’t take much to see imo.

He all of a sudden didn’t forget how to goaler

JMO from viewing the last 10-15 games

Most goals on Freddie are bar and in

He’s weak 5 hole, but on breakaways?

I don’t know, maybe we’ll get lucky and Campbell will be what people thought 10 years ago....but tonight the score would be the same

Andersen has been Bad this season.

I didn't think that was debatable

Defence has been bad. The team defence has been bad. Andersen has been bad.

Dubas needs to pull the trigger on some trades. This team is terrible.
- celinedionpha9

As long as you are referring to him being a seller, then yes.

Otherwise, you are basically advocating the same philosophy that made them a laughingstock for so long.

Yeah, let's trade MORE future for a band-aid.

The problem is he bailed the team out of quite a number of regular season games they did not deserve to win over the years. Combined with playing more than most in the league, his numbers are a smoke screen at the end of the day.

Fact, he's been poop when it counts... And hasn't bailed anyone out of anything this season.

My tablet was down to 5% battery, so I have just grabbed a 30-foot extension cord off the porch and have run it across the living room.

I love it when Mrs. Wedgie is away.

Agreed.
Although he hasnt been great the past month or so.
But hes been the teams mvp the past two years

Andersen has been Bad this season.

- senstroll

Not on Andersen.

It's on a team that has a weak blueline and a coaching staff that refuses to make the team play defense.

More like "meh, the goalie will stop it".

And then if he doesn't, everybody blame the goalie.

Nylander has the second most goals in front of the net...
- Steven_Seagull

yup... I know the stats.

How likely is Nylander to go to the front of the net against the Bruins.

and the total lack of urgency/energy on the PowerPlays early tells you he's still trying to get over the flu or whatever is distracting him today.

Has he scored since the all-star break? other than the thing that him ...

I don't disagree with much of what you said.

And like I said, I don't blame it all on him by any stretch. I watch a poop load of games around the league, I assure you, a lot of good teams have goalies who make 1-3 saves a game that they shouldn't have to make. It's part of the job.

No one is saying anything when Fred is on the other end of the spectrum and stealing games we have no business winning. But it's not unreasonable to expect him to be in the middle somewhere and make a couple he has no business making either.

The problem this season compared to most is he is making none of those... And letting go a pile he should save as well. He gives up a couple quick ones and the team is down and out. It goes both ways and every single one of these mother (frank)ers with that logo on their jersey is accountable. No one needs to make excuses for fred, he did not gain immunity by stealing regular season games in the past...

There's no point in arguing about Andersen's play this year.

No goalie would look good.

We were wafer-thin to start the year, and then got franked with injuries.

We can't defend.
