Yup. Miller was the first sign the aquas have mandated playoffs. You can see it’s business move, they want that playoff money. The “for the players and the fans” poop today from JB was translucent af

For a guy who claims to love draft picks he sure doesn't hang onto very many

He's traded 17 picks away, (brought in 15, although of much lesser quality), probably the most of any GM, all while he's suppose to be rebuilding...I have no issues with the Miller or Toffoli trades though, it's time to start competing.

2014 - 2nd, 3rd & 4th traded away (brought in 1st & 3rd)
2015 - 2nd & a 3rd traded away (brought in a 3rd)
2016 - 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th traded away (brought in 3rd & 5th)
2017 - 5th & 6th traded away (brought in 4th, 5th, 6th)
2018 - 4th traded away
2019 - 3rd & 4th traded away (brought in 4th, 6th, 6th, 6th, 7th)
2020 - 1st & 2nd traded away (brought in 7th, 7th)

Rumour was JB liked Linus Karlsson on draft day but SJ took him before they could.

JB traded a scrub for him. LA traded NHL talent to acquire a prospect they liked.

JB isn't stupid unless you ask stupid people. He's not giving up Vans 2nd best prospect for a rental or a top 6 forward.

Yeah, do that and forget any decent UFA ever signing here again, that’s how you get situations in Edmonton and Ottawa where they suck for years, get generational talent but still can’t get it together.

I like the trade.

Canucks got a good player and more importantly, the kind of player that they will need in the playoffs (hopefully this year!). They need to make the playoffs and/or extend him for it to payoff, but at least one of those should happen.

Madden, for all his NCAA success to-date, never made it to my top 4-5 prospects, either as a center or winger. His rights + the 25% success rates for a 2nd round pick making it to the NHL seem a fair price for Toffoli as a UFA. Schaller as an offsetting salary makes it work with the cap.
