In addition to the news about Boeser’s injury, [Benning] dropped a couple of other nuggets on the assembled news hounds. He said the Canucks have “conservatively,” seven prospects who’ll make the team in the next two to three years and that made Madden expendable.

One of those prospects is Zack MacEwen, who Benning says has established himself as an NHL player.

That’s a lot of rookies on their way up.

From what I understand, they made it clear two prospects are not going anywhere: Nils Hoglander and Vasily Podkolzin.

They really like their Hog and Pod.

That is sort of a given I think. It would need to be a blockbuster trade for those two to go. Those two guys are going to be exciting.

I think Canucks did end up with the best all around forward this year at the draft. That's my opinion. I think Kakko and Hughes are okay but nothing special and I am not a fan of Dach style. Pod seems to be getting better week to week and becoming a fan favorite there.

This is just my opinion not fact in any way at all.I am quite happy with this team and the future.

To be fair, I was hoping one of those american kids fell to us prior to the draft, but after their world junior no-show and some of their sub-par draft plus one seasons, I'm super happy with podkolzin. Hes a tenacious player. Hes exactly what we need today.
