I mean come on Canucks fans. You have Pettersson AND Hughes AND Boeser AND Podkolzin AND Hoglander. Any farm system has additional requirements beyond just farming. You guys are still sitting pretty in the youth department. Enjoy Toffoli and the playoffs.

I like what Steve is saying. You don't just build a farm to insert players. JB has added well over 200 games of playoff experience to Vans core this season.

Also note that JB is on the hot seat this year, if we don’t get in, likely he and his staff (and Green and his staff too) are all gone at season’s end. He’s got to at least try and go all-in if only to keep his job. That said, FA probably wants playoffs this year, then at least to round 2 next year and then contending and winning the Cup in year 3.

Really doubt FA is handing out an extension before knowing how the team finishes if playoffs are a must.

You don’t have to say any of that, don’t be such a drama queen. You’re the GM, just go about your business. Players aren’t coming into the office to ask if anyone is getting traded. I’m not saying that the feel good message by Benji isn’t positive, or motivating, but your hyperbole is just as bad as Bloated’s

I beg your pardon? There's nothing bad about my exaggerations.

So if Canucks miss the playoffs by a point Jim is out of here .

It is great to have ownership base 6 years of work on a single game

I could see if they were not even close but I think this don't make the playoffs and your out pure horsesh1t.

Yes its taking advantage of assets to improve the team. Long term implications are unknowns and they probably are confident they can sign Toffoli. Risk worth taking for team development and keep on trending up.

What I see is GMJB attacking the 2yrs of cheap he has in EP ,QH and going for it. If it works it's all worth it

Not going to have an entire team of draft picks with zero playoffs experience.

I think FA’s patience is pretty thin, I still think he might pull the trigger on JB if they, regardless of how they miss. It’s not like we’re in year 1 or 2 of the rebuild where it’s not possible to take a step forwards. I think JB (and Green) needs the team to make it, even as the 2nd WC, or they get canned. It’s also not like there’s no good replacements available to try and get them there if the current management/coaching group falters.

I love how at the press conference everyone is talking about Toffy and Pearsy, a natural fit with Bo yadda yadda and the first thing Green tries is not that.
- 1970vintage

Green still might go to that knowing its a good option. But don't you think his concern was replacing BB on the number 1 line?

Anyway Green mixes his lines up despite his look at practices. Don't be surprised if he then puts TT with BO and Pearson. Then moves JV back with Petey, knocks LE to 4th and Sutter with AG. Moves he's done in recent games.

JB is probably not done its too much of a coincidence he announces BB and Leivo out until play offs a week before TDL.

JB kept saying he was waiting on Ferland probably because he wanted to know if he could keep his cap on LTIR to do the Tiffoli deal. Now he's gunning for more knowing having done that he can afford to keep BB out longer to bring help in other team areas.

No kidding, what is with these stupid lineups....Toffoli and Pearson have past chemistry, and Bo needs Erikssonoff his line but Green is such a poophead he does the opposite.
