honestly, this makes me dislike the trade (despite being ok and understanding of it before). Paying for a rental to supplement a healthy top 6 makes sense, but paying for a rental to fill in for an injured top 6 i don't quite understand. Boeser going down, Leivo being out, and Ferland being placed on LTIR for the rest of the year would have given me a better indication that the team wasn't going to go all in this year, but thats just me.

Sorry TJ, Petey, Bo and Hughes you guys are fantastic players, but giving up Madden and a second that is 4-5 years away is far more important in the long run.”

You don’t have to say any of that, don’t be such a drama queen. You’re the GM, just go about your business. Players aren’t coming into the office to ask if anyone is getting traded. I respect and understand your point. I'm not mad about madden or the 2nd round pick or the price in general, just not quite understanding the timing with boeser and leivo being put on LTIR. If boeser was healthy, I wouldnt find a thing to complain about for the trade, we havent had a legit top 6 since 2011, and now we finally do (sort of)

I mean come on Canucks fans. You have Pettersson AND Hughes AND Boeser AND Podkolzin AND Hoglander. Any farm system has additional requirements beyond just farming. You guys are still sitting pretty in the youth department. Enjoy Toffoli and the playoffs.

I like what Steve is saying. You don't just build a farm to insert players. JB has added well over 200 games of playoff experience to Vans core this season.
