Mark Madden tomorrow: Will Malkin's return to the lineup disrupt the chemistry the Penguins have found with Anthony Angelo?

Hahaha. Dumb (frank)ing rule. If his stick wasnt there it would’ve been right in the chops

Yeah, no kidding. It was only a couple inches away, anyway.

Well, I guess all coaches can request a review of high sticks now. Good to know.

Maybe Oshie will be getting some embellishment penalties now.

I can see reviewing if it’s a teammates stick. Not if the opposing players stick drives yours into your face.

I don't disagree with the rule, but the fact is now that I understand the rule, it shouldn't have been reviewed. It is only reviewed in the case that it may be a double-minor. The issue here that double-minors or to some degree objective. Blood isn't an automatic double-minor.

When I heard it first I thought it was strictly to prevent penalizing a player when it was a teammate that caught the player high.

It's all based on Vegas against SJ. If a double-minor is called, they review it. What the refs basically did here is know they made a bad call and claimed double-minor to review it and reverse their bad call.

Right and that absolutely makes sense, I agree with it that way, not with what just happened.
