Adding Patrick this late in the season would do wonders for this team down the middle. We saw how ineffective Giroux was at center before getting moved back to LW. But man, having Couts-Hayes-Patrick- Laughton as your centers... I think we'd be one of the strongest teams in the East at center which is great for the playoffs

I wouldn't have very high expectations for Patrick if he plays this season. Say he comes back in a month after going through contact drills and a conditioning stint in the AHL. He still didn't have a training camp and hasn't seen a second of NHL action in close to a year. It will take him the rest of the regular season just to get fully acclimated.

Basically, it would be like adding a 3C/4C at the TDL without giving anything up, but I wouldn't expect huge point totals.

Sure, getting Patrick back this time of season is like getting someone in a trade without giving up anything in return.

I wouldn't expect huge point totals either. It's certainly not game-shape or pace, but Patrick still has been training/practicing so he won't be super out of shape. I guess I would compare his insertion to Pitlick. Pitlick missed camp and looked a little out of place but eventually got his legs and speed back

funny story, when we first traded for Braun I had a brain fart and thought it was Brendan Dillon. I was so excited but foolishly mixed the two up somehow.

Dillon got pretty choked up last night when asked the possibility of playing his last shark game.
