My future (2021-2022 or later) line up prior to this season.
Lindblom - Patrick - TK
Farabee - Frost - Ratcliff
G - Coots - Jake
Raffl - Laughton - Pitlick
Provy - Nisky
Sanheim - Myers
Ghost - Morin
Hart
Sandstrom - cdearth23
These are my doubts. Lindblom you shouldn’t put any expectations on.
I don’t think Niskanen will be here long either.
What is interesting is Patrick as your first line center and Frost as your second. Even with Patrick missing this entire season, Patrick is way better than Frost. Both have a few years to write their own stories.

Still say the Pronger and Coburn trades were some of the best trades we've made in my lifetime. |

Well currently we would be buyers but we have no cap space so what do you suggest he does? |

Its not even a discussion. The franchise would have been looked at crosseyed by EVERY SINGLE hockey related authority had they not chosen Hischier or Patrick. - MBFlyerfan
Hischier and Patrick were the consensus No. 1 and No. 2, yes. But there were a few scouts who put Heiskanen and Makar in the mix as worthy of consideration that high, too. |

Landing Pronger, landing Coburn, land Hartnell and Timonen were the best I’ve seen. You’d have to really breakdown that Forsberg deal. |

I'll give you that, but I didnt see the Flyers taking a dman at #2 regardless.

Bill,
Since the 2004/2005 lockout ended, the CBA stated that any returns in trades must be fulfilled and that cash isn't tradeable. So I'm curious: what did the Flyers receive in return when they traded Roenick to LA? I can't find anything to point out what those "future considerations" actually were. |

No one did. The team need was a centerman with all the defensive prospects we drafted. Now there were some people on this board who wanted to trade back with the pick, but I can't remember anyone saying we should go D-man. |

the Flyers won't be able to just add without moving players. they simply don't have the cap space. they are going to have to make a "hockey trade" like moving Ghost for a forward, etc. Fletcher moved a 2nd and third for one year of Braun so I don't believe for one moment he wouldn't move picks for help if they had the space to do so |

My honest question is why do people knock Patrick, and don’t want him back this year when he has produced two 30 point seasons? Not necessarily on this board either. Yeah I get the injury concerns, but if you told me we get that guy with 10 regular seasons games left and and playoffs in a limited (4th line) role, I would take that every time. |

Right now, including Ghost, the Flyers have a 21-man roster and a little over $2M cap space available. If Patrick comes back, his cap hit is under $1M. They could carry 8D and have him be #8.
And yes, he is available, but at his full $5M+ cap hit. - jmatchett383
only way I see it is if the Flyers make a bigger move, like packaging Ghost and trying to upgrade the O. I do think the Flyers could move multiple parts in an effort to get better but better would be a young top 6-9 forward, then they might need a Bogosian.
I cant imagine that is out there, so they shouldn't make a move. Kapanen seems to be a popular want for Philly, is he a big upgrade? I know the Leafs dont have a 1st, 3rd or a 5th this coming draft, if they don't feel like they will be a contender they might get antsy and make a move |

I'm with you. If Patrick is ready, then that's a good thing for the team. He will have to get a cup of coffee in LHV first to get him used to the game conditions first, but when ready, he would definitely help the team. |

Adding Patrick this late in the season would do wonders for this team down the middle. We saw how ineffective Giroux was at center before getting moved back to LW. But man, having Couts-Hayes-Patrick- Laughton as your centers... I think we'd be one of the strongest teams in the East at center which is great for the playoffs |
