During all the talk before the draft and even well after it, I didn't read any talk or see anything written about Patrick having a migraine issue. In fact pretty much every fan was giddy that the Flyers just drafted a potential #1 center. It hasn't worked out but it's just unfortunate that the kid has to deal with this. I hope he can recover and play again.

So let me get this right. Some of you take this site and the people on it so serious, you come up with offensive nicknames like “the clown”?

It hasn’t worked out...yet.

There has to be along list of player who started their careers slow and found their way.

This is what annoys the hell out of me when people go "wE sHoUlDnT hAvE dRaFtEd PaTrIcK"

Not only was he the consensus #2, but for a year or two prior he was the consensus #1!

there was zero reporting about this condition and no other GM was concerned about it.

I watched an SN video right around the 2017 draft that had analysts back in 2015 talking about Patrick being the consensus 2017 first pick and essentially refer to it as the Nolan Patrick Draft. There’s still way to much potential to give up on the guy this early.

Agreed. It looks like he's making progress, so fingers crossed. What I will say is that we've had our fill of bad luck this year with our young players..with Oskar and Patrick

Exactly! If my memory serves me correctly, when calling it the Nolan Patrick draft, people compared it to Tavares draft class. As JT was deemed the consensus #1 years in advance of being drafted.

where are we at right now if we had a healthy Lindblom all year and if Patrick had been available all year even if he had merely made slight progress from last year?

I think top 3 in the div. Lindblom was really starting to blossom as you know.

Patrick showed flashes of progress last year, and I think the idea of acquiring Hayes to get him better matchups at 3 C was spot on.

Ignoring the Migrane issues, I always saw him as a career 2nd C guy

Still battling for that 3rd spot in Metro but I imagine, we'd be holding it prior to the outcome of todays matchup

I'm a fan of that, but not a fan of Schlemko using $600K of dead space next year.
- jmatchett383

He actually commented on that at the Town Hall meeting as well, but can remember what he said exactly. Something along the lines of not wanting to do it but thinking the extra cap space this year would be beneficial iirc.

Its amazing the Flyers have the 10th most points in the entire league. The Metro is a nightmare this season.

WTF are the Canucks overpaying for a rental? With this news, they must feel they are a player away.

Yeah, apparently he said the cap went up 500K less than they had anticipated, so burying him wouldn't be enough. Again, I understand it, just not happy about it for next season.

It's a nickname based on what his avatar was for like 10 years straight and it stuck.
