Well I'm not commenting one way or another on it. But it is the truth. They're both on record numerous times saying that they'd rather "bring someone up too late than too early".

Aho and the 2020 2nd. Whatcha gonna get for it?
- Wildschwein

Nothing, letā€™s just stand pat and wait another year. Maybe, just maybe there will be more rentals at cheaper prices next year or the year after that. In the mean time miss the POs and take a step back. Great for the growth of the players and the team in the league and their players eyes.

Not aimed at you Schwein just answering the question with obvious sarcasm after reading the posts on here today.

Yup.

Labanc canā€™t cost too much more than that Iā€™d think.

Then thereā€™s Athanasiou. Heā€™d cost a bit more Iā€™m certain, but heā€™d be worth it.

- Wildschwein

Athanasiou is one player Iā€™m not big on at all. Not a fan.

Love the skill/speed but I don't think he's the kind of guy Trotz is going to like. Don't get the feeling he's too interested in playing a 200ft game

Trotz and Lou just aren't going to play young guys unless they have to. That's the new reality. The days of getting to see the young guys get a shot left us along with Garth and Dipshit Doug.

If Dobson were old enough, he wouldn't have been here at all this season either.

Agree but Wow, thatā€™s a turn around from him taking away a regular start from someone else when Pelech comes back

He had ample time to show he could play and play more minutes but he didnā€™t.

Now is that on the player or the coach?

All I know for certain is that Athanasiou is faster than anyone on this roster, and he REALLY likes to shoot the puck.

Exactly. I think he would be to much of a project for a deadline deal.

I still think Dobson would have been fine in that spot in the long run. He played two really bad games in a row and they traded for Greene. I understand the logic and have no issue with it, especially because if one more guy got hurt then Dobson AND Aho would have been regulars in the lineup and that's far less than ideal.

Chiefs already did but Iā€™ll expand further. He is a bit loosey goosey in his own end. I donā€™t see the guy super often but he seems to be inconsistent and a defensive liability. We have enough of that going on right now.

I'm just saying, from a 'reality' standpoint, I don't see Athanasiou being the guy that Lou is going to cough up a big time return for. He just doesn't fit the organization's mentality. Whether or not that's right/wrong/indifferent is another debate.

I have to say it was pretty funny to watch his fall from grace on this thread from last week to now. He went from, ā€œoh wow heā€™s so greatā€ and ā€œhe is going to be a superstarā€ to ā€œheā€™s not going to cut itā€ or ā€œwhat do you think we can get for him?ā€. It literally was two bad games for a rookie defenseman. It happensšŸ˜‚

Did I miss a "trading Noah Dobson" conversation? Because that's a pretty (frank)ing dumb idea

Hes going to be the top guy on this team and soon but he needs man strength because a defenseman unlike a forward cant get away with it(unless you're Duncan Keith and slash mother(frank)ers in the face)

Yeah, he was bad those two games, but he never earned the confidence of the Staff to give him a regular shift, even after Pelech went down and the opportunity was there. I think Lou actually waited until it was obvious the back end needed help.
Again I think heā€™s got all the tools and is gonna be good but he just needs to beef up to be able to Absorb the ā€œheavy gameā€

We did not need Greene. We had the ultimate heavy game dman in Strait.

This makes sense on the waiver from twitter

So basically what this means is that if the Islanders make a trade between now and Monday, actually sending Bardreau to BPT can happen immediately and without waivers.

Bardreau has not yet been sent down, so roster still at 23.

I know Ses and I were discussing trades and the lack of assets to acquire a difference maker and I asked him if you had to trade Dobson and a first to get a Hoffman and or do you do it.
I said it would be a really tough decision what do you do?

Ses answered I donā€™t trade Dobson.

I guess the answer is if someone came calling for Dobson it would have to be a true top 6 goal scorer preferably a center with term. Even then it would be a tough desicion.
