I've always felt like if there's a player the Isles really want in the middle/end of the first round, they'll find a way to trade up at the draft to land him. They did it with Barzal when they set the first round pick on fire that year in the Vanek trade, and if Snow could get it done, Lou can, too.

I think Pageau fills a few big needs for this team. It's addressing the hole at 3C, sure, but it's also addressing a hole at wing since Brassard's been much better there than at center, and now he can play there without leaving a carousel of failures in his wake to center the third line.

Everyone freaking out about the picks....(frank) the picks. I’m sick of picks.

Giving up not one prospect is huge. I completely expected at the very least, Wilde, Bellows, someone, would be traded.

Pageau to Isles for a 1st in 2020 that shifts to a 1st in 2021 if the Isles pick in top 3 of the June Draft. No conditions on 2nd round pick in 2020. Conditional 3rd if the Isles win the Stanley Cup this year only.

There ya go. Likely a first and 2nd this year for Pageau. Not upset about it, but I hope they can re-sign him after paying that much. That's a lot to give up.

I'm not really a fan of this move at all tbh. I'll keep the faith since it's Lou, but a week after dealing a 2nd rounder for Greene, we now send a first and second rounder for a 'sell high' 3rd line center. Pageau is having a fine season, but his career stats are rather 'meh'. If we resign him, i can live with it, but we still need an offensive difference maker with less to offer.

An extension certainly changes it, but they paid a premium. I've been saying for over a year that he's a perfect fit for this system, but that's a lot to give up.

Pageau does fill a big need UIF and if he re-signs, I see Bailey going for some picks and to free up money. Team needs to go on a nice run as Lou got them help with Greene and Pageau.

Can win a draw too!

Great deal for both teams, Islanders can’t go limping into the POs. He’s exactly what the Dr ordered until our injured players return.

I'm cool with it.

Picks can always be recouped at the draft.

Look the isles needed a player and this was the guy we all wanted for months, it's a bit high but for once the soles made the big move and I for one am happy about it

Rangers have moved their practice back a half hour until 11:30.

John Davidson will address the media at 11, so some kind of news must be coming... #NYR

Am I missing something? I can't figure out what the attractive piece in that deal is for Florida. They're two points out of a playoff spot and they're trading one of their better players.

I wonder if there would be any takers for Greiss at this stage. I think it's highly unlikely that we'd actually trade him however since he's a free agent next year and hasn't been all that great of late it would be interesting to see what we could get for him

Trochek wanted out, no? I know I read that somewhere.
