Kidding...I hope you're right. I think it's better to keep expectations low, though, and then be pleasantly surprised.

Is what it is. I think old man Lou is due and these last couple of games may inspire him further especially last nights. The team last night resembled the team that was on a point streak earlier in the season. They looked to me maybe the best they have in a couple of months.

I will say it will probably bum Lou out if he cannot make a deal and Garth was thrilled not to make a deal.

Ek just posted we have interest In Athanasiou. Iโ€™m not saying Iโ€™m supporting an Ek post but I see him as a realistic target. He checks a lot of the boxes but my one hesitation with him is heโ€™s a bit of a defensive liability. Maybe Trotz can cure that but thatโ€™s the one guy Iโ€™m not overly enthusiastic about getting.

Besides the fact that Ek never gets it right, what do you guys think of Athanasiou? Good fit for the top six?

My main question that has to do with today has nothing to do who we are getting. It has to do with whether Vukota has continued his (always disappointing for him) tradition of taking off from work to refresh Twitter all day for the Trade deadline๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Like Arbour said, "If he can score 50 goals, we can teach him to play defense."

True but doing it in a short amount of time to where he can help us is a pretty big factor imo. Like I said in my earlier post he does check a lot of the boxes but to me thatโ€™s a pretty big knock with the system we play.

I would love them to get Athanasiou just to hear Butch try to pronounce his name all the time.

Pierre LeBrun
@PierreVLeBrun
San Jose Sharks taking calls on both Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau today. Totally up to them if they sign off on going to a contender for a chance to win a Cup. Both would be welcomed back to SJ on July 1 if they wish. Pittsburgh has shown interest in Marleau.

Thornton? I would like it.
