Igor Eronko @IgorEronko
now
Per @SFedotoF Ilya Sorokin's rights are gonna be traded to the Blackhawks soon. I'm hearing the opposite. Lou met Sorokin's agent. There're some requirements from Ilya's side, A and B bonuses and Euro clause. 99% chance Sorokin coming to the NHL next year #Isles #Blackhawks

Whatever other Russian reporter he tagged in that tweet is reporting that Lou is dealing Sorokin's rights to Chicago.

Igor is saying that it's quite the opposite, that there is some work to be done on A&B bonuses on his contract and a Euro clause, which is not uncommon and gives him the option to go back to Russia if he's not happy...but that he is almost positive Sorokin is coming to the NHL aka the Isles.

So, in summation:

Well part of the job is selling the team and what he’s doing with it. Its not all about outbidding another team as we see. I find it weird that nobody mentions that there’s a huge sales aspect that comes into attracting UFA’s.

With that said I wouldn’t blame Lameriello for not signing UFA’s.

- Cptmjl

Exactly right. Whether you call it blame it's some sort of failure missing out on a player. Isles seemed to be in on Panarin now whether he just used the Isles or not, the fact is they lost him to the Rangers.

If, big IF, the report that Lou is trading him is true:

My guess: Saad

My hope: Strome

Strome would be nice. Still would hurt to lose a promising young goalie with Soderstrom and Sharek not looking good now.

There is no goalie depth in the system beyond Sorokin. The pool of goaltenders with NHL potential that aren't already on the NYI roster starts and ends with Sorokin.

Isles need to draft a goalie in this upcoming draft. I still do not want Varly and Greiss both back if Sorokin will not be an Isles.

If it happened to be Strome, I'm all for it. Don't like it for Saad, even with another year on his deal. Saad is a good fit, but I'm not sure he's worth trading a goaltender with Sorokin's potential when there is nobody like him in the Isles system

As you know I’ve kind have been indifferent to him but I don’t really understand trading him with what we have going on in net and what you just mentioned. I’m assuming that’s not happening.

As far as Russian reporters go, Eronko is pretty much their equivalent of Bob McKenzie. Obviously any info coming out of that poopstain country is, by default, somewhat sketchy...but Eronko is pretty solid.

Well if sorokin doesn’t come get used to that idea because that’s exactly what will most likely happen. Nobody is taking Varlamov and his contract and Greiss will most likely be offered a 1-2 yr extension.

I like Greiss but I'd like to see who else can be signed for 1-2 years this offseason. Greiss seems to be struggling and we all know has trouble if needed to be the 1A.

Yeah I’ve seen enough of his tweets to know that. I can’t see us trading him with our existing goaltenders. To me that would be pretty dumb.

For someone like Strome, I get it. There is absolutely some risk involved with Sorokin, so if they get a real young kid with serious offensive talent into the fold here....I'm all for it. But someone like Saad isn't going to do it for me.

Perhaps, but that's the only calibre of player I'd be willing to move Sorokin for.
