I'd like to see them take a stab at swapping Lee and Beauvillier and see how that works out. Barzal and Beau have worked some magic together in the past.

Beau and Barzal just don’t play well together imho

Nelson and Beau have played well

So management should have known Brassard gets a puck in the mug

No, they should have known that this offense didn't cut it after the Carolina series and went out and upgraded what was clearly their weak point.

I said several games ago, if I were Barry, I would scramble every line and defensive pairing in the team. They haven't played good defensive system hockey in weeks and are overthinking the offensive play. Best way to counter that is take away their intuition/telegraphed play by putting them in combos where system play becomes first and foremost again.
Unfortunately, while these guys have proven they can play very good hockey when healthy, they've also proved they are far to shallow in terms of quality players. One to two injuries completely burries them. A guy Like Leo should have been a one-year plug-in play last year. He has no business seeing anything more than fourth-line minutes Yet here we are so shallow and helpless that were sticking them on a second line.
Honestly at this point I'm not sure I want them to make an impactful trade. What's the point? There's nothing about this team's offensive play and goaltending that is suggested to me they'll survive more than a round in the playoffs.

Fair points. The team hasn't played consistently well since its point streak ended months ago. I agree, and have said for a while, that the team lacks high end talent. It has trouble winning unless it outworks its opponent, something that is unreasonable to expect over the course of 82 games. The problem is that obtaining high end talent is easier said than done; see, Panarin, Artemi. And they are just good enough to make it unlikely that it can happen through the draft.

I'm so angry that I spent money just this morning to go see this shitbucket lineup tonight
- eichiefs9

Just texted my buddies I have season tickets with and told them I'm out for tonight. No way in hell am I watching that lineup in person. Plus it's gonna take a pound of the greens to get me through it so I might as well watch it from my couch

Sending Bellows down for Ladd makes sense now.

It doesn't have to be a "Panarin" level player. Though, it would have been great to see his impact in the orange and blue. Guys like Zucker, Toffoli etc., would be a substantial upgrade over what we have now. Especially pairing them with Barzal.

You think about the Isles being low on assets or prospects in the system and you have to go back to Okposo, Neilson and JT leaving for absolutely nothing.
You have to think there would be a hell of a lot more picks and or prospects that The Islanders would have to deal with today. Talk about bad management
