Team is not as good with out Casey in the line up long term.
I mean on top of this his injury was a freak thing.

The problem is keeping him in the lineup.

There are plenty of fair arguments for not re-signing him after his contract is up in the summer of '21, but in the meantime....there is zero chance they look to move him.

And that's one of the arguments against extending his contract, but for now he's here to stay.

Schweiner is right, this organization has no business dealing centers. There are too few that are competent.

I could see the 2021 1st and Wahlstrom being in play this summer if the right player is made available. Referring specifically to the guy I mentioned in my last post

Going to be an interesting offseason no matter what. Isles need to find a wing for Barzal. Would be easier and cheaper if Wahlstrom is the wing.

No way you can extend Casey. He is practically held together with duck tape now.

He's already missed 11 games this year. He missed 9 last year. He missed 18 two seasons ago. 23 the year before that. The way he plays the game makes him prone to injuries. I love the guy, but he'll be 30 when his deal expires. I can't imagine giving a multi-year raise to an injury prone 30 year old at more money than he's making now.

Dylan Strome?

Why not poney up that package for Trochek right now?

Crazy really, in a season you may have 2 skate blade injuries in the league and the Isles have had 2 this year alone. Just tough luck really.

I'd prefer Strome to Trocheck for several reasons, but either would be a great fit.

I honestly dunno how much I’d pony up for Strome. He’s been somewhat inconsistent this year. That troubles me.

That is just this year. You have to factor the missed games the other seasons and it could be worse as he gets older.

He's been moved around a lot because Dach has emerged as their future 2C. I think that's probably responsible for some of it.

The Hawks probably can't afford to pay Strome the ~$5M that he's going to cost. They have zero goaltenders signed for next season and around $10M in cap space (before any increase in the upper limit). Lehner should be a priority for them and I have to imagine he eats up like half of what they'll have available. Caggiula and Kubalik will need new deals as well and they could probably use a defenseman.

So you want the Strome with 31 points, not 51.. Actually, you should do this

I want the one who's not being propped up by playing ES and PP minutes with Artemi Panarin. Also the one who's 22 and not going to get overpaid because of my first point.

Going to be interesting to see what Ryan gets. Really have to be careful with his contract.

Lehner will eat at least half, thinking 6 to 7 if not by the Hawks then some other team will give him that.

He had 33 points 18 goals in 60 games last year with the Rangers, playing with garbage.

Always weary of guys having career-high seasons in contract years. Doubly-so when they're centering one of the best wingers in the league.

So he plays to a 45pt pace over a full season when playing with garbage. That's not exactly boner-inducing

I don’t think this organization should be moving ANY pivots. There is (frank) all for depth in that position organizationally.

You're not going to like hearing this but holy sh!t your boy is unwatchable right now. Looks like he is out there playing in sneakers
