We have nuts covered with Eberle, Nelson, and Bailey.

I'm not sure I would have phrased it that way ...

I don't get all the love for Georgiev. He's decent for a young guy but his stats are about as average as average gets. Someone over there said they wouldn't trade him to the Leafs for a 2nd and Bracco...I'd have taken that package and run. I think he's worth like a 3rd rounder on a good day.
- eichiefs9

You don't watch him enough. He is a very good goalie, and would be fantastic behind Shesty. Sometimes numbers aren't everything, in Georgies case its true. I bet he has faced a crazy amount of shots for goalies playing the same amount of games.

You are not impressed with Georgiev.
- ses111

I mean he's fine for a young guy. But goalies are worth (frank) all in a trade and he's not special. Ben Bishop got traded to Ottawa for a 2nd and from Ottawa to Tampa for Cory Conacher

Probably should have rephrased. You see what those players do to me?

It doesn't really. It saves them $3M in cap space next year and costs them $1.5M in cap space the year after that. I mean it helps, but it's not like it erases his entire $8.5M cap hit.
- eichiefs9

They do that and it would be enough to sign all three players I mentioned with what they have coming off. Even if they could I wouldn’t sign kreider I would trade him for more than he’s worth and call it a day.

I know they’ve been saying they would never buy him out do you think they’ll stick with that mantra? Obviously he’s highly respected within the organization but that’s a tough pill to swallow. Buying him out cures a lot of their problems pretty quickly.
- Cptmjl

I don't think so, that would be a pretty big (frank) you to Hank. Unfortunately I think he gets his retirement tour next year and then thats it.

I'm just impressed with any Ranger goalie who plays well behind that defense.

Goalie trades usually don’t yield a whole helluva lot. There was a recent one I believe that got a first but that’s an anomaly.

That Kreider contract could be one to regret in a few years but that's par for the course.

Thats why I don't want to trade him. He is better than Hank, and is not worth much in a trade most likely

You have to admit that Nelson is having a good year. He's on pace for 60 points.

They're not everything, but you know every GM is going to be telling Gorton that his numbers aren't special and they're not giving up assets for him.

He's faced the 3rd most shots out of goaltenders that have played 30 or fewer games this season, behind Crawford and Raanta.

I'm not saying he sucks, I'm just saying his trade value is very little. Young goalies are are too unpredictable to give up assets for. Plus there's a good chance there's a few quality goaltenders out there this summer, between trades and UFA which is going to drive his price down even more.

Nelson has hit a rough patch but he has been the best all around player this season imo.

Not to be Debbie Downer chief but if Sorokin does not come over next year who do you see the Isles bringing in?

Hanks contract is (frank)ing us with keeping Shesty & Georgie. I will give you that

- mdw7413

I think they buy out Hank next year and they will keep Georgie if they don’t get what they want for him. Can Shesty be your starter and carry the load (like chiefs in the GH on a Saturday night?)

I really like Greiss but time to move on. Whatever goalies comes in better be able to play a number of games in a row without getting gassed.

Griess is and has been a solid 1b. He won't be more than that.

Typically because if a goalie is playing well for you you keep him. If he can’t stop a puck you trade him

If only he could have gotten quality coaching early in his career!
