Only if the refs were allowed to draw imaginary lines to where they think the puck and goal line is.

That doesn’t go against the “you can’t guess” even when you know it’s probably past the goal line rule at all.

Finally some consistency

The only time the puck is visable and it's not clearly across the line. It dissapreared and is obstructed and the yellow circle moves to somewhere else, but the puck isn't clearly visible in that spot. It's a guess. That's not how the rule works. If was the right call by the rule book, if,you knew the rule.

The last time it was visible was at his knee, it could have dropped into his knee cradle, you don't know where it went. Assumptions don't work. The rule says you have to clearly see the puck past the line and the video doesn't show it.

Took me less time to make that GIF using Paint than it did for them to review the goal. You'd think with the millions of dollars they have they could have figured out how to track and highlight the puck from that angle. It's obviously over the line, not by a lot but enough. Maybe they didn't have their reading glasses on.

The point is the referees make "mistakes" both ways. Fans want to cry about a penalty call one way, well, there's clear evidence that shows the Sabres lost an early goal. In the end, the harder working, better playing team won.

The Leafs lost because of their own play and effort, not because of the referees.
