If these trades are setting the market, I would just as soon see the Leafs stand pat.

They don't appear to have the heart, work ethic, maturity... whatever is missing. I would rather they did not give up more futures.

I agree. If there's a real hockey deal to be had for a dman then go for it but otherwise our best upgrade between now and the playoffs is going to be a healthy and re-set Rielly (hopefully).

The leafs are never going to be able to add to this team like they can this year.

Unless the multiple long term injuries happen every year.

When it’s the only team you constantly watch you start to only look at the eye test for your team but the numbers for every other team. Not the best situation.

Lots of games left and lots of time for Freddy to get back to at least average goaltending. The Buffalo game for him was promising but not there yet.

You can’t go anywhere really with poop goaltending.

pretty much, they can only go as far as Freddy and/or Jack take them

Yes. It seems like every deal Dubas looks for is a longer term contract so it isn’t just a deal for a playoff run this year.

I’d start Campbell tonight.

This poop Freddy we have seen has been going on for a while. It’s time so try and see if we have an option to play for longer stretches if he keeps playing like this down the stretch.

They can definitely grab some heavy UFA's right now but I'm afraid of the price (at least the cost of any real difference makers).

I doubt Dubas looks at a rental unless it really makes sense.

If another D gets hurt this week a D rental absolutely makes sense. Also I don’t think this team can have Dermott in the top 4 for much longer it’s hurting the team.

I’d say players with term is the likely trade here and the leafs have the player assets to make it happen. I think Dubas will give Keefe an opportunity to succeed here and that’ll come with a trade or two.

I thought maybe the way Campbell has handled his 4 games with the Leafs so far that would give Andersen some extra motivation and get him back to playing better. I know it's only been one game back for Freddy but that certainly hasn't been the case.

It also doesn't help that every team in the league knows Freddy's five hole is possibly the worst in the league.

Honestly I want the coaching staff to give the nod to Campbell tonight too.

It's not a bad idea, give Andersen the home game.. Although, if he struggles and Leaf fans start to chant Campbell, that could get ugly.

If Campbell outplays Freddy the next few weeks he gets the bulk of the games down the stretch.

Pretty damn similar to the Caps with Holtby the year they won the cup. He had a horrible year at .909 so Trotz posted Grebaur more down the stretch and even 2 playoff games.

The Buffalo game, I'll give him a break, no one played well.. On the Sabres 4th goal by Okposo, Kerfoot quit on the play, Sandin went for a weak poke check and then it's a breakaway

Freddy has great road numbers and poop home numbers. I'd give him the start tonight and then JC on Thursday.

The Leafs have to go 14-8 at the minimum to sqeek in and that's just a maybe. These next 3 games before the deadline are crucial IMO. If they win all 3 it would be 11-8 and basically .500 hockey the rest of the way, Duba's should then go all in and go for it. If they go 2-1 ya maybe tinker a bit to improve and try and make a stretch drive. But if they go 0-3 and have to go 14-5 the rest of the way. Can anyone see this team mature enough to play almost mistake free .750 hockey down the stretch. Its not impossible but if it came to this I'd rather see them either stand pat or trade off a few assets and hope for the best....

I am starting to think that next year is Andersen's last year as a Maple Leaf.. He'll be going to UFA. Andersen will be 32 yrs old and probably looking for a big pay day.

I don't think 14-8 is good enough to be honest. I think we need to go 16-6 to be guaranteed a spot.

Where in the blue (frank) did you get this number from?

Are the Habs going 20-4 to end the season?

The leafs are 2 points up on Florida and the Leafs hold the tie breaker. If Florida goes 16-7 then yeah the Leafs have to go 14-8.

Iv'e got 14-8 in my mind as the number as well ...BUT, Florida and the Leafs are both capable of poopting the bed and allowing the other to back their way in. I think we're going to have to ride this for the next 6 weeks.

Dubas will do something on the blueline I think. Trouble now is that he keeps losing that trade-able depth upfront to injuries. Some good news on Mikky would be huge.

Since Keefe was hired

Leafs on pace for 106 points

Panthers on pace for 86 points

But wait “look out if the Panthers get goaltending?”

Leafs SV% since then .900

Panthers SV% since then .901

I was going by what the game analyst's were talking about on the broadcast the other night. They said the Leafs would need 15 wins to squeek in. I say 14 because it sounds easier. I'm not making this poop up...

Looking at the 30+ UFA goalie signings ...

Bob 7 x 10m
Fleury 3 x 7m
Varlamov 4 x 5m
Bishop 6 x 5m

Freddy would have to throw some really good numbers up between now and next summer to deserve much of a raise, IMHO.

To be fair, we can't expect that to continue.. Florida probably realizes that they are in a playoff race too..

Freddy currently gets $5M per season, he may want a raise.. I'd guess, he'd ask for a 4-5 year deal for $7.5M per
