at least we can still comfortably root for Tampa/Coleman since our pick isn't connected to them.
We'll also cross our fingers either Foote or that 1st round pick will amount to a better player than Coleman is now and will be in the next 5 years of his career.
.. same goes for Palmieri, who I'm not really down for trading.
Perhaps if Nico or Jack was a McJesus/Matthews, we'd be doing more building instead of tearing down. The thing is, we're likely not going to be drafting a franchise player this year or next, unless we win the lottery... which is why I think it makes a bit of sense to keep 30 goal scorers with 5 years left of being able to hit that mark. We're selling in hopes of what, drafting/developing an 80pt forward? probably not going to happen.
idk. we'll see what happens. We'll see what Jack turns into. We'll see what the Footes, Merkleys, Boqvists turn into. Nico should have another productive offseason and hopefully be the 70pt center we hope for.
I guess a team with several 20-30 goal scorers could still be a good team.. just look at Columbus. .. who probably won't be winning anytime soon. - MartysBetter88
Im rooting for Vancouver to just make the playoffs and get swept. I don’t want Tampa’s pick next season.

I like what Coleman brings over somebody like Kreider.
Honestly, the Bolts could add a half-dozen new elite forwards and defenders, and it won't win them a Cup until they get rid of Cooper. Torts out-coached Cooper last year. - GalacticStone
not really. difference between 4th and 5th this year is negligible. If you're not picking first you're not getting the generational talent, which is fine, we're going to get an excellent player anyway.
