Our genius head coach won't put Skinner on the 1st line but people want him kicked up the front office as GM ? Good Lord no
- SABRES 89

I think the idea would be as President with a GM underneath him, but your point still stands. Nothing he has done this season tells me that would be a good idea.

What happened to Jordan Staal?

He’ll be hitting 1000gp next year and only be a fresh 32.

- dadeadhead

time comes for us all.

But seriously i dunno. He's still a beast at puck possession and winning puck battles, but the guy can't shoot to save his life.

Lol he does that.

he looks real good a lot of the time because he makes big plays, but the play sure seems to be in his end a lot whenever he's on the ice.

skinner needs space...none of the center's he's played with since the hot start are capable of creating that space...his career shooting percentage is 10.7 and last year with Eichel and on the powerplay he set a career high with 14.9%...this year he's at 7.3%...he's the main focus of his line and teams are bottling him up...his 3.02 shots/game this year is slightly below his 3.3 career average but the quality of those shots are way down as he's not getting anywhere close to the looks he had last year with the space Eichel created for him

Im fine with him not being on L1.

Im not fine with him not producing, or even creating for himself. I understand his point totals will be different without Jack. But like it or not, he is now making "Elite" money, and needs to be able to show that he can do something on his own.

Had an Okay October, and From November on, 4 goals 10 points in the last 4 months.

You would think if he was so good as I am told he is, he would be able to produce I don't know 8-10 points a month which is what 56 points at a minimum.

Its not even hes just not scoring, hes not doing anything.

There are a lot of times, where it just seems hes not into it or where his name is barely called during a game. That is what I am not okay with.

For the Sabres sake he needs to start producing, and the Sabres need to do whatever it takes to get him to.

Like,
Maybe put him back with Jack for 5 games

You can frame it however you like but it would completely unprecedented to let a GM pick his 3rd coach after 3 years. I think that should be the hint that it's time to go in a new direction

Let’s be honest. I would be SHOCKED if botts wanted housley. I’m guessing botts wanted tochet and was vetoed on that because of pegs and tochet’s background.

Also remember he was turned down by a couple coaches during the Ralph search.

So did he really get 2 swipes at it?

The first Montour goal, was literally all his doing, and then he drew 2 penalties.

The bolder sentence is just beyond false.

His line mates are also guys who cannot score 10+ goals.

So where are his assists supposed to come from?

He turned down multiple offers last year and the offseason, it's a different story now.

I mean I’ve known he’s had to deal Risto since July 1st so glad Botts finally figures out months after the fact.

Congrats to Jacob Bryson for getting his first pro goal last night for the Amerks. He has quietly had a very good first year as a pro. I would put him slightly ahead of Borgen at this point. Although they play different styles I would give Bryson the edge. I see him as McCabe's ultimate replacement at LD.

Dahlin
Pilut
Bryson
Samuelsson ( a few years away)

The Ryan Johnson pick at 31 last year is a joke, he'll be a bust. Just watch Kaliyev will be a stud.

6K had a rough game last night, let in a few softies.

- mhp

What do u base Bryson over Borgen on?

And for what it’s worth on Ryan Johnson,
Kris Baker has him as a better prospect than anyone in our system- including Pilut & Joker
What makes u see him as a bust?

For what it's worth, a friend low in the scouting dept said Sabres working on a big package move including Miller, another D, prospect and picks... Vegas and Fla mentioned as possibilities, but nothing more could be shared.
