Simple really... do you want Ralph as the gm? If you can him will pegs really hire a strong experienced gm? History says no. It may also look bad if pegs moves to his 4th gm in 8 years. Also, for all the crap botts gets, he’s really made 2-3 glaring errors (one perpetuated by the owner), 2 - 3 decent trades, gotten some decent talent in the pipeline. It’s not all bad...

that would be typical...but they cannot afford to keep doing stuff like that...two rookie gm's have really set the team back and that would be two rookie coaches surrounding Krueger who had only 48 games behind an nhl bench prior to being hired by buffalo...I like taylor but man, I might go full duane-mode at the hire and the almost assured aftermath

And you aren’t axing the coach. You are “promoting” the coach.

I get the sense Krueger doesn't like Skinner for the same reasons Brind'amour didn't like Skinner.

You can frame it however you like but it would completely unprecedented to let a GM pick his 3rd coach after 3 years. I think that should be the hint that it's time to go in a new direction
