For what it's worth, a friend low in the scouting dept said Sabres working on a big package move including Miller, another D, prospect and picks... Vegas and Fla mentioned as possibilities, but nothing more could be shared.

I like this post. I like this post because it points out that neither party or candidate of said party is a good choice.

There is a saying, all politics is local. This past November in my election district, 90% (?) of the candidates were cross party endorsed. The only race I recall that wasn't was for County Exec.

If all politics is local and the local races are cross-endorsed, why is it so divisive at the National level? Oh, that's right, it is because they ALL are money-chasing, money-grubbing pieces of excrement!

Another GM coming in may change that but, how many more times do you do this ? the cycle just keeps getting worse. 5 Head coaches since Lindy I think, 2 GM's, if Botterill makes moves who the hell know's what will happen. Another GM comes in and starts all over again because of Murray being told to "speed this up" and then Botterill wanting to "build" unlike the guy he learned from in Pittsburgh who only care about the " now " and " this year." This whole thing is pretty sad.

Is there any truth at all to teams just getting better by playing in the same system? People say it all the time but has anyone ever done a study on it? It seems like it would be exactly the opposite.

The only thing pegs could do to save face is move Ralph upstairs to be the poho. Keep botts in place and call gallant. Or Lavi. Or Lindy. Or teddy.

If he “promotes” Ralph he isn’t hiring a poho, he’s “promoting” and employee... so saves face there.

If pegs cleans house, he looks bad and will hire another weak, inexperienced gm. And the cycle continues!

If he stands pat with Ralph and botts, it’s the same reshuffling of the deck chairs on the titanic. Skinner gets more upset and it starts to filter through the room and by the end of next season, multiple players lose their love for the game and we are giving Seattle a first to take skinner off our hands...

It is in a matter of perspective.

#1 Point, you could and they might.

#2 Point, This shouldn't be an issue. It's a 2 part problem. (a) Your 3rd year GM should have had an action plan in the offseason to get a legitimate #2C, someone paid $7-9 to play with him. (b) The coach should have a plan to get your $9M player going again.

That's how I see it.
