Vegas line on Astros batters hit is 84.5 over /under

I'd take the over

That defense is softer than baby sh1t left outside in Phoenix in August.

Also i'm pretty sure Vesey has better or close to similar stats as Tuch this year.

- JVince11

Correct.
Injuries have limited Tuch to just 17 points this season, a far fry from the 52 he put up in 2018-19....CBS Sports

Jimmy Vesey is not Alex Tuch...not even close.

By now, you'd think people around here would know better than to use the word "clown" as a pejorative.

I guess I am confused on how the trade was allowed to go through if it puts Vegas over the cap?
- ImThatGuy

It's the same concept that came up a few days ago about deadline cap space vs cap space. They've accrued some space, and are tapping into that. They have to address it, but can do it short term.

We were over the cap early in the season for a couple days as well.

Trocheck had that 75 pt season... 2 55 pt seasons before that but has been pretty down the last 2 years.

If there is a legit 2C that we are going to tie all of our wagons too... I'd offer Risto, Casey, and the 2nds or 3rds or whatever to get him.

- JVince11

what is a "legit 2C" to you?

I know I said this isn't a football board and it is certainly NOT a baseball board but.......

I believe that the Astros, as a team should have been punished more. Possibly up to vacating their title. In addition, a $5M fine is comparable to me pulling a $20 out of my wallet.

Baseball hurt themselves with this.

Agreed - a good idea. Can it happen? Cap space aside, is this something that Vegas would do? Could this get done prior to the end of the season or is this a draft day deal?

Even with that, they did not have enough space to acquire him, per CF of course. Unless I am misreading it.

I like Trochek for Risto in the off season. Dont see it happening while Fl is in the playoff hunt.

what would you pay for him?
2020 1st, Mitts, +?

27 yo
37 pts, on pace for 55sh
last 2 seasons = 56, 78
$5.9M Cap for next 6 years

I would think it is an off-season move since they are in the middle of a tight PO chase

Either way, it's a good thought. This feels more like a draft day move, when the positions are set?

I like the swap of 1st rounders

Wild Bill is a solid hockey player. Lots of effort every shift, not being carried by a star.

Average goaltending and were already a playoff caliber team. Including last night, Hutton has easily costed us 8 points this year.

Ok please tell me how the Leafs, Panthers, Habs, Predators, Wild, and others I’m sure wouldn’t be able to make the same argument. All teams have players/goalies that go in and out of slumps. Let’s say if Skinner scored 30 that could have made up 8 points or if the defence stopped deflecting pucks into their own net that is worth 4 points. Sure you can say if you had Rask or Jary then maybe you make up 8 points but that’s not even a sure thing. Wasn’t too long ago Leaf fans were crapping all over Hutch now they are getting ready to roast Anderson. Freddie’s save % since he returned from injury is worse than Hutchˋs.
In their case Leaf fans can blame them both but not Jack Campbell cause he’s the new saviour similar to Bob in Florida. Stay tuned as they all get their turn.

I'm not going to tell you that you're misreading it, because it's not really shown there. They give a nice snapshot, but it's in annual terms. There's a lot more going on that involves the actual daily hits. It's the same reason they have 326k of cap space, but 750k of deadline cap space.

If you look at their daily cap tracker, you'll see that they've gone over the cap several times, but it's more than offset by how much they were under the cap earlier in the season.

They've already made a move to get back under.
