Puljujarvi is in a similar boat. he's finally at the level he should have been three years ago.
- BINGO!

Puljujarvi and The Fat One are in the same boat in that they either "have it" or they don't. Some players take longer than others to develop, but if they have what it takes, they'll eventually figure things out. If they can't, it's because they were never capable in the first place, not because they played at the top level too early.

Pass for sure. Old, fragile, expensive dman and goalie both signed for 7 more years combined over $18m in salary and Domi.
Replace Dahlin with McCabe and Reinhart with Okposo and then we are a bit closer.

Whittle it to Reinhart for Domi and add smaller pieces around that

...... but why?

Reinhart is a ton better and more consistent than Domi.

Price has the worst contract in the NHL. He could only be moved if Montreal retains 4 million per year.

I've always been a fan of Domi and I value a 2C more highly than a 1RW

Now Reinhardt for Domi would be interesting but you are right to say other minor pieces would need to be added from both sides

Well how do you feel about a 3C behind Danault and Suzuki? Because that's where he sits.

He has taken about the same amount of FOs as Larsson does.

He's easily a 50-55 point center with Skinner and Mojo and Reinhart's PP time. 2C solved and more speed added

700 faceoffs is a fine amount. He's half a tick under 50% which is fine

Why faceoffs are still anywhere near the top of the list for evaluating centers is mind-boggling.

I mean I get where you are coming from... I get that pivots are more important to build from than wingers but when you look at this roster... Reinhart is more and I mean MORE than fine as our 1RW. He has been consistently improving every year and his chemistry with Jack is fantastic.

To trade Sam for a 2C when we have internal options like Cozens/Casey who are prime 2C options in the very near future seems to be setting us up for failure. Asplund is the 3C of the future as well.
