JB should fire his pro scouts, big miss. - GilPerreault11
I watched a ted talk from a big VC/incubator type guy who goes in to young companies builds them up then moves on.
Someone asked him how do you get better at hiring people and his answer was that unfortunately you cant. Hiring the right person is really hard, and the way to be better is to be better at firing people.
He said the fatal flaw he sees in almost all businesses he steps in to is that they have too much pride and ego to admit they hired the wrong person.
They'd rather hurt themselves instead of admitting they were wrong and trying again
I think thats what we're going to be in for now. Pegula's got heat for the turnover in the bills and sabres and now we're locked in for a long time. And thankfully it seems they picked right for the Bills.

Yeah, they have had so much turnover they might let JB have his last year so they show that they hve patience and stability and aren't firing hot heads. If they hadn't fired so many coaches and GM's up to this point I bet he'd be a goner. He has history on his side.
Oh good lord. You mean his weekly instigators appearance or on TSN insider trading where that’s literally the subject of discussion?
You’re 100% right. They aren’t firing him. I came to that conclusion a while ago.
Maybe I’m being naive, but I think he’s eventually going to turn a d into a top 6 forward.
And I’m not going to OBSESS over trades of mid-round picks on a daily basis in the meantime.
I mean, how are we not talking about how ridiculous St. Louis is for trading a 2nd rounder for a 6th d as a rental? - sbroads24
Eventually shouldn't be the standard though. We've completely wasted possibly Eichel's career year, a Dahlin ELC year, Reinhart's final cheap year, and even Olofsson's cheap year because he came into the season with 9 NHL defensemen on the roster.
It took 4 months to finally move one, and he comes up with frolik. And it took 5 months to waive bogosian. Inexcusable.

Seems like a guy we’d target - term left, signed through two more years after this year and probably would be good with Skinner. Better put a really defensive responsible player with those two though. He could be the decent 2c until Cozens or, deep breath, mitts could take over 2c. Hoping the price wouldn’t be huge

Then, you take the job. You know how to do it.
Plus, you will have your pick of whichever AGM, from this Board, as well.
The Sabres are saved! I thank as well as the rest of the Sabres fan base.

I certainly hope this isn't Eichel's career year. That would mean he had a pretty disappointing (relatively speaking) career.

Yeah sort of like the montour trade from last year. A good young player with term.
