I was at the draft. Remember it fondly. Torn between who they should take. Assumed Ekblad was a goner. So it came down to Reinhart or Drai. Reinhart was the safe pick because Jochen Hecht is all we had to go by from Germany. Of course Edmonton would pick Drai right after. Didn't make me feel any better. Saw a bunch of young bucks from Buff whooping it up in the concourse around pick 4 as i was standing in line for another beer. I told the young bucks, i don't know, maybe they should've picked Drai. They said no way, Reinhart is going to be a stud, we just saw him before he was interviewed, he talked about us. Their excitement made me like him. Of all the time for GMTM to have cashews, that was it. Should've picked Drai. There, I said it. Only mistake he ever made.

Really? Not gonna also say that taking anybody but Nylander who's having a hard time sticking in Chi after they gave him plenty of opportunity with Toews and Kane wasn't a mistake? Of course it was, and if he had made a better pick, he might still have had his job. Olofsson pick was awesome. I can give credit where it's due, but outside of that he didn't do anything to bring the franchise any further then when he found it.
