He couldn't retain any salary at that time (even if he wasn't making the Frolik trade they still didn't have a ton of space)

Frolik will be here for 30 some games and he will be gone. He has made zero impact for this team

He is not worth re-signing, he was never worth acquiring

The big thing that I don't understand and would love to get clarification on is why won't Botts retain salary for a pending UFA?

89 has said Botts is against it

Makes no sense to not retain salary if you can improve your return.

Montreal is retaining 50% of the deal and got a 2nd rounder out of it.

It falls off after this season.

We finished last how many times with him as our GM. Like seriously. He picked Nylander. His one hit is what Nylander should of been. So at best he's a wash. Also missed on Draisatl. Explain to me how's any good at all when he can't seem to catch another job. Nothing to do with Botts, he'll be joining him at the unemployment line as well. They are both bad, period.

Um what? They were under teh cap with him on the team and moving a portion of his salary would have made them over the cap, im confused?

People don't realize THIS part.... sure.. move all of these 2nd pairing like dmen now... because there is going to be several teams in the days up to and on the day of the deadline that are going to look to "match what another team did" at the TDL and will overpay then too.


This will now also drive the price up even more. Risto is an arm and a leg better than the 3 dmen that moved today. This has now set the market.
