It's not a disaster of a contract either, though. He's only 23 years old, which means some team looking to hit the cap floor always be willing to take him if he continues to trend downward, which is doubtful. Either way, they're not moving him this season. It makes zero sense for them to do so unless they get an overpayment offer from a GM actively looking to sabotage his employer.

I'd pass on Tuch, go for Trocheck.

The only teams I see us doing an actual hockey trade with are the ones not in the playoffs. So detroit, LA, Ducks, Sharks, NJ, NYR

Even then it's incredibly rare to see at the TDL. Even the Montour trade last year wasnt really a hockey trade. It was essentially a buyer's move because of the "extra" sabres draft capital. The likelihood of seeing Risto moved for a good NHL forward at the TDL feels very unlikely.

I dont know what you think a 2C will cost.... but if you think youre getting one without deal a 1 is wishful thinking.

I really do like the Madden kid Vancouver dealt. I play some sim based hockey leagues and have him in one so i did some research on him. I think he will be come a very high end 3rd C lower 2C caliber player. He does it all (long story short what eh thought we got in Larsson)

I agree, Montour was definitely his guy.
I dont think we will acquire a guy who will be a roster player next year.

Thoughts on the Toffoli deal:

I think Vancouver overpaid, but with their latest injuries I understand it a bit

But it was a steep price to pay for a rental

Buffalo isn't in position in the standings or built depth wise to make a trade like that

If anything the only moves that will happen in the next week would be:

Any one of these guys Sheary, E-Rod, Girgensons, Larsson being moved

I don't see a big move happening unless someone wants to overpay for Montour (which I would be opened to)
