Bogosian suspended.

like I said

plan was

Waive Bogo ti report to Roch
he Doesnt report
Breach of contract
Contract voided.

Cap circumvention at its finest.

- ImThatGuy

If injuries are indicative of toughness, desire, and heart, then Bogo was the toughest, big hearted, desire-filled player the Sabres ever had.

I figured he wouldn’t show. He thinks he’s better than he actually is.

And I agree this is the same process they used to terminate berglunds deal. Botts doing the same thing with bogo.

- Sabretooth9

He knows his value. This is a process to ultimately terminate his contract so he can play in the NHL this year. They're going to the 11th hour to try to trade him. Without termination.

There's also a remote possibility he reports after the deadline if he's still in this organization.

Hardly. It's the player's choice to not report.
- TheSabresTaco

Correct. Both sides knew that he wasn't going to report.

Sry flagged you by accident

Sure, I would have liked to see him with Mojo and Reinhart as well, but at the end of the day, Mittelstadt was in over his head no matter who the linemates were. He simply wasnt ready to play 18 minutes a night at 2C

- jcragcrumple

Shouldn’t have to. Skinner+ Reinhart can carry Mitts and produce

Log line is a legit 3rd line

Erod/Lazar/Sheary or Vesey is fine for a 4th

It shouldn’t have been difficult

I disagree. He's in the minors for a reason. He couldn't hold on in a sheltered 4th line role, let alone thrive in a 2C role with double the time

What you're proposing is Luke adam centering Vanek and Pominville

Don't know the rules on contract termination/breach but i think this would be in everyones best interest.

nobody was taking bogosian on his current deal, but they might add him as a FA. If he can find the right team/role, maybe he earns a contract next season, because as things stand he'd probably be heading to europe.

- Michael Ghofrani

I think there's a very good chance this was planned with Zach and his agent. Someone is likely to sign him to a minimum deal. I'd imagine they already know his options.

Spot on , A+ post.

Probably being sarcastic, but your actually right.
At least early in his career.

Talent wasnt keeping him around or scoring

Actually both of those things were what got him that dumb contract. He had 9 and 10 goals his first two years. Never touched that again

The fact Sabres refused to honor Bogosian's NMC is going to land them on just about every No Trade list around the league.

A NMC/NTC doesn’t transfer from team to team. A team can opt to accept them if they choose to. The players signed off on that in the CBA.

Unless it’s the only way a player would waive their clause, why would any team handcuff themselves?

Draft status as well.

9 and 10 goals are now good?

Except when girgs or Larsson do it?

Sabres were far worse off having Bogo on their roster.
I loved Jay McKee’s toughness, until he was too tough to wash his pads.
When the team stinks, it’s easy to accuse them of indifference. I’ve done it myself. But when they start winning, I have a feeling there will be an appearance of heart and desire.

I have no idea what you're trying to get at. Do you think we should pay them $5.whatever each like the Thrasherjets paid Bogo?

Except that was expected to be line 1. Not line 2.

The point I’m making is that giving him those strong line mates could’ve progressed his game. Not allowed him to lose confidence and regress.

If I may be so bold, I’m thinking you might just be a big supporter of one Theodore Nolan. I enjoyed his first stint with the team quite a bit.

Pretty much every other team agrees to honor NMC/NTCs, because it's a show of respect for the players. You do that so players are comfortable signing as free agents or being traded to your franchise.

I think the discussion revolved around bogo.
I feel like he was a try hard, tough guy to play against
And he sucked. But not by lack of effort , but talent.
In Buffalo. Also - health issues clearly

I feel like you took the stance that he was signed to a bunch of money because of talent. But, that contract was pre buffalo.

You acted like his 9 and 10 goal seasons were proving his talent. 9 or 10 is fine , but not great.

Can we both be right?
