If I had to guess.

Risto + Girgs/Erod/Larsson
for
March + Eakin + a pick to take Eakin

- ImThatGuy

Could be, Eakin has been poopty this year, but if we could get some of last year not a bad 3C. Contract is like 3.8 mill

Some sites have Marchessault listed as a LW/RW.

Doesn't solve the Center problem and March has a NTC. Have to believe Buffalo is on it.

Like I sad Try to get Wild Bill.

Tuch, Eakin, Glass have no clauses.

Karlsson and Reaves
for
Risto and Girgs/Larsson/Erod and a B level Prospect.

This should be in the dialogue between management and ownership.

Lets get 3,000 people to agree to this

Boss this is not a video game, all players are different. You really cant teach Toughness (some guys just don't want to get punched in the face), I think Sam is a determined player, Effort (sure i will give you that one sometimes) size (cant teach that) Leadership (you either have it or you don't) Attitude? Sam have a bad one of those?

There are very few players that exhibit all of those qualities in the NHL

- hehateme

Solid post

I kinda feel like we need a better mix of toughness in the lineup. We have a few pieces of true value.

Sam
Risto
Montour- kinda

If we are going to trade risto, that's less toughness.

He plays LW doesn't he

I don't watch a lot of Vegas but I have heard that Marchessault alternates between center and wing. Which tbh makes him a perfect fit with this organization

I appreciate you simplifying it.

Seems like all sports work that way?

I've always felt there's a game within the game.

Like developing the trenches in football ( o line and d line) its won up front.
Baseball seems like pitching wins games. Keeping the other team from scoring .
Hockey - be a difficult team too play against. Team tough, not a few individuals. (Although I like face punchers too) . Play fast tough playoff type hockey.

It would take quite a bit to pry Tuch out of Vegas.
- dadeadhead

Not sure about that. Bad year for him and a long contract ahead - 6 more years. There may be some buyer's remorse there for vegas. Price might be lower than you think

Having a good offense, wins in every sport.
Making teams always play a way to keep up with your scoring pace makes them press and it often makes other teams one dimensional.

Nothing against the push for adding toughness, because i do believe on some level it does even in this day and age have merit. However, more often than not buzzwords like "sandpaper" and "toughness" are just narratives designed to help provide an answer that makes people feel better/rationalize defeat that the true (or truer i guess) answer doesn't.

That truth being that there's a huge element of luck in hockey, probably more so than any of the other major sports in north america. Which makes sense given all the variables in hockey like speed, injury risk, what happens with the puck post shot etc.

He plays on a line with eichel.

Everyone can look and see that he has good point totals.
That's all sammers have - look at his points.

You went to the game last night. Basically our season on the line, solid team effort.

0 g 0 assists 0 points 1 shot 0 hits from Sam

Talk about bringing intensity to a big game ?

Did you even notice him, aside from the turnovers and the 1 nice pass to victor?

2/3 guys trying to shut eichel down every shift.

His points are inflated , they shouldn't pay him big $ for what eichels doing.

- zero leadership
- zero clutchness
- zero strength in battles

But hey , 60-70 points
