Yea he definitely helps them he's a real solid player. But man did they pay a high price. Either way they are better right now. |

When it comes to it he is a cheap cap hit and a good player. It will allow them to move a more higher cost winger with a bit more pedigree this summer and still be cap compliant. It was a real solid move. |

Yea probably one of Palat, Gourde, Killorn or Johnson gone. Cirelli will get a good raise. |

This. $1.8M for next year, too. Ridiculous. |

Yea but basically 2 1st round picks as Foote was a late 1st and they gave them Vancouver's 1st. I guess they did what they had to do I guess. Couldn't take on a big cap hit but I thought their forward group was plenty strong enough. |

Too bad either the Bolts or B's won't get past the 2nd round. |

If they want to keep Cirelli and Sergachev they will need to move two bodies. I think Killorn and Gourde are the only ones without a complete NTC. |

I hate it. I liked the old seeding much better. Regardless, the east is a meat grinder this year. No easy path to the finals for anybody. |

It's crazy, in the old seeding if the playoffs started tonight the leafs would be out and it would be Bruins/Canes, Bolts/Flyers, Caps/Jackets, Pens/Isles |

I think they land Toffoli. Krieder's asking price is probably stupid high right now |

I think so too. Any idea who we might get? I’d have to think a 3rd line type of player and D depth. |

Your guess is as good as mine. One of McCann, Kahun, or Simon will drop to the 3rd line with Horny when the team gets healthy. I mean, for depth purposes would you be shocked if the Pens reacquired Sheary for a mid round pick or mid level prospect? Probably invaluable to get a guy who knows the system/players and can fit right in. On the back end, I have no idea. If Dumo is really struggling I think GMJR would pull the trigger on Dillion |

Problem with Dillon is the price we’d have to pay but I’d go for it if he’s “the piece” lol
I’m torn on Sheary coming back. I’d love to get a defensively responsible player for a run. Perhaps we won’t need anyone once Kahun and Bjugstad get back. |

Gotta remember that ontop of Bjugstad, Kahun will be coming back soon and that Lafferty and Agazzino are not going to be in a healthy lineup even with G our long term. A third line of some combination of Kahun, McCann, Hornqvist, Simon, and Bjugstad is more than than adequate. Rutherford shouldn’t feel pressured to get a forward, but obviously if there’s a good deal to be had for a right handed shot he should do it. - Victoro311
They could use a LW. If Kahun and Simon are in the top 6 and McCann at C, nobody naturally plays LW. Beaides, we aren't going on a deep playoff run with no injuries. I'd bargain shop, but I'd like to add. |

I like that Miller has term but he is RD and we need LD.
It keeps being said that we have no more ammo since we don't have a 1st or 2nd this year, but we have picks 1-3 in 2021 (and 2022). If we could get a good 2LD, I would trade our 2021 1st. We will need to get a LD in the offseason if we plan on cutting JJ loose, anyway. - Hockey66
I'm fine going into next year with Riikola getting a shot and POJ having a good chance to break in next year.
Of course we probably aren't cutting JJ loose. Also think Hornqvist might have locked his spot in for another year today if it was even in doubt. |

It's a definite overpay, more than we paid for Zucker, to get that value contract. They are going to have to dump salary like crazy next year and everyone has full NTCs that makes over 2M. 75M committed to 13 players and several FAs including Cirelli and everyone on defense except Hedman, McDonagh, and Coburn (who has a NTC)
They could be royally screwed so have to push all in this year and Coleman helps navigate the cap next year. |

TBH Sheary is still putting up very solid possession numbers with a bad buffalo team so I would be ok with it. It depends on the ZAR injury too. Might need someone who kills penalties. |

Isn't Kahun a natural LW, or at least that's what he plays most? Same with Zucker (or did you leave out the obvious?). Even if not, him and Zucker in the top 6 LW is a lock, as is Rust at RW. So I think it comes down to if Sully is comfortable with Simon at 1RW for the playoff run. I'm not. I would rather see us acquire a RW (like Toffoli) to play alongside Crosby and Zucker.
Really, though, I think getting a 2LD is much more a priority and would go a long way to improving the team. A 2LD with some offensive chops. |

Petterson is developing into that role. He made a nice pass to Zucker in the Montreal game and he helped to create some space for Crosby on his goal yesterday. Another plus is he does not hesitate to shoot.
As far as Kahun is concerned, I remember one or two Hawks fan on here immediately after the Maatta trade. They were saying he is better on the right side. I like him there also, there just isn't any room for him in the top six. |

This second paragraph all depends on Dumo. If Dumo wasn't a question mark the Pens would probably try for another forward. But it's looking more and more like we need Scandella, Dillon, etc.. |
