People are losing there poop over the inconsistency of it all. That's the biggest part IMO and its so obvious. Plus some players get away with murder, while other players can't even breath on someone without spending time in the box. What infuriates me the most is when the far ref who has no clean view calls it, but the ref right there let's it go. Just tells you that each ref dictates a penalty differently and that shouldn't be the case. Its either one or isn't, not a could be or a maybe....

NHL reffing is mired in an uglier than usual stretch. The leafs are far from the only team to see it.

It is what it is last night. Despite what those morons max and UG have to say people are allowed to not be happy with the reffing, if even seen some non troll buffalo fans state it was a poop show. It wasn't good.

But when the team doesn't show up for 45 minutes of the game, doesn't defend, and the goalie disappears after two periods... It's a moot point.

Yes the reffing was poop, you actually have to play a complete game for it to matter...

Geezus, all the trolls come out to play after losses eh?

Love these guys talking about how Leafs fans think they are so good. Short of Roger I’m not sure anyone on here has been bragging about their play this year.

That was the Sabres Stanley Cup. They'll likely lose 7 in a row now.

I don't know about losing seven in a row but this guy is right.

I keep hearing this, but the Leafs are a net positive in terms of penalties for and against.

All I keep hearing is the Leafs do not hustle enough and effort lacks a lot, every time I come in hear, that is what i see written.

Granted, last night was odd, and officiating sucks, but that's for for every team. Every team gets the shaft from time to time.

The Leafs lost last night because they showed up for roughly ten minutes of that game. I think buffalo was out shooting them in terms of shots attempted like 48-18 at one point.

Yes the 3rd Eichel goal on the PP was a questionable call, but that call happens all the time in this sport. That does not excuse being beat by Okposo 35 seconds later and then just failing to play defense a minute later for goal 5.

Didn't watch last night and I stand by my decision.

This team will not beat Boston or Tampa.

Hell, the playoffs are still an open question.

I hope Dubas does nothing at the trade deadline.

Putrid.

Be very careful Wedgie. You'll find yourself labelled "UG 2.0" by some around here for that kind of anti-leaf sentiment.

The Leafs have been dead last in penalty mins against the last 3 years. I couldn't check past 3 years so it could be even 4 or 5 years.

For a team that has been in the 100 point club and a puck possession offense first team that is mind baffling.

And watching all the games the eye test matches the stat...The refs miss calls, a lot of them.

Reffing has been bad. It is a league wide problem and pointing it out is valid.

The problem is people like you who respond to people pointing out inconsistency in calls by saying they are blaming it for the Leafs failures which is completely false.

You do realize every teams fanbase claims that the NHL and the Refs are against them, right?

Last night wasn't anything egregious in terms of lopsidedness with penalties called.

The refs should frustrate you less than the team not showing up for most of that game.

The Leafs should have beat the pants off the Sabres, and it showed in those ten minutes the Leafs decided to play and tied the game.

The Leafs even show up for 20-25 minutes and they win that game, easily.

Lol. Go and do some backreading. There was a dude I was responding to who literally blamed the loss on the officiating.

The Leafs have been last in PP opportunists the past 3 years...Sorry but there are facts to support the argument that the Leafs don't get enough calls their way.

And yeah of course the Leafs played bad last night. It doesn't change the fact the refs were bad too.

No one here is blaming the refs for last nights loss. Just simply pointing out inconsistency that has been a problem for some time now.

Most of it seems to even out over time.

Except for the brewns. They consistently get more calls their way.

All fans complain about the refs. It's always easier to blame the refs, goalie or lack of puck luck than it is to give credit to your opponent beating you. That being said, teams get screwed all the time. It's not whining. It's true.

Leaf fans outnumber other teams fanbases so they're the loudest. Same with Habs fans. I've listened since 1982 Red Wings fans whining, making excuses for losses and outright lying about what happened in playoff games. So it isn't just Leaf fans complaining. It's everyone. Admitting the truth can be hard. It's much easier to point the finger than it is to look in the mirror.
