That would have been the near perfect replacement. They hired him just as the playoffs were getting under way. Would have been really hard for the Leafs to make the switch at that point.

Could have slid him 10 million just to stay unsigned until the playoffs were done though and hired him after they lost Game 7.

I agree with this. You have to deal, they didn't... But that is also the point. Game is 2-2, they just battles back to tie it and the ref (frank)s it up royally.

It's been all season. Can't say there is not some weird dynamic in play that for some reason stuff gets ignored against the leafs.

The real numbers, of legit powrplays is probably even worse that the total called. This whole pp deficit has become a joke. I am waiting for someone from the Leafs to actually say soemthing.

A PP or 2... For legit penalties in the first may have helped them show up.

They didn't play well through two. Battled back to tie it in the third and a garbage call takes it all away. Deflating.

Leafs battle through cheap penalty calls, non calls that lead to a goal against and plays that should have lead to a penalty that went uncalled.

The reffing was horrendous.
