What about AHL signing to end season with Comets?

Wasn't Gaudette also signed before end of regular season. Madden supposedly is a better upside prospect.

@Vantel, I don’t think you can buy out a player who is injured. So he would have to be recovered and cleared to play before they could pull the trigger on that. I think if he’s done, it will be the Pronger treatment.

From a hockey purists perspective it makes sense. But when you’re trying to attract a larger viewing audience it’s hard to have bare knuckle brawling on network broadcasts.

Secondly, the NHL can’t assume the liability of injuries from fighting, whether it’s insurance or settlements. The NHL must show they oppose fighting so it shifts responsibility to the players for their actions.

It sucks but that’s the reality.

I think every college signing has played a game or two with the Canucks at the end of the season. The Canucks also sucked during those times.
