Plus Hughes and Brock had legit shots at making the lineup during their 1st season, even for a couple games. Same for the next full season.
Not going to happen for Madden.

What about AHL signing to end season with Comets?
Wasn't Gaudette also signed before end of regular season. Madden supposedly is a better upside prospect. |

Thanks Carol, sucks about Mr. Ferley
@Vantel, I don’t think you can buy out a player who is injured. So he would have to be recovered and cleared to play before they could pull the trigger on that. I think if he’s done, it will be the Pronger treatment. |

There is a very simple solution that will never fly, drop the instigator rule.
Yes I know of you who love this pablum Hockey, I'm not advocating bench clearing, just frontier justice.
How many suspensions would have been avoided in recent memory had it been settled on the ice rather than the DPS ? Think about it. |

From a hockey purists perspective it makes sense. But when you’re trying to attract a larger viewing audience it’s hard to have bare knuckle brawling on network broadcasts.
Secondly, the NHL can’t assume the liability of injuries from fighting, whether it’s insurance or settlements. The NHL must show they oppose fighting so it shifts responsibility to the players for their actions.
It sucks but that’s the reality. |

I hate it but it’s one of those things we have to learn to accept and live with because the NHL ain’t going back to the good ole days. |

I think every college signing has played a game or two with the Canucks at the end of the season. The Canucks also sucked during those times. |

Finally! 5-2 Canucks, as it seems like they’ve played a lot of 5-2 games this year. |

Hextall and his group did a masterful job on the draft floor, much better than Benning even with the Patrick (frank)up, trades and UFA signings not so much.
