I thought Benning said he was not trading anymore picks?
- Marwood

He gives em out like a pez dispenser. Player is fine we got just why now again? Let the core grow a bit get better stronger then start stuff like this. We picked hoglander in the 2nd last year and lind 2 years before now we need them sooner again cause of jimbo. Hopefully it works who knows

You can’t talk to player agents about players and contracts who aren’t on your team. Benning already learned this lesson the hard way with PK. You know nothing Jon Snow

Do you know that LA didn’t give JB permission to talk to his agent?

Not until the rebuild is over and it is. After the current group, we’ll be lucky to land a Gaunce in the draft in the next few years

No, I do not, but there are reports (again) of multiple teams bidding, so why would they? Allowing other teams an opportunity to talk to your pending UFA player shrinks your market, not the other way around.

The next GM can fill the age gap. Could probably solve the cap issues, too.

Watch Benning win the GM of the year award, and Green the coach of the year, and then all of us will be in shambles, some doubly so.

Most coaches get fired within a year of winning the Jack Adams. There is hope.

After this season it’s a mod NMC so he can be exposed for the e-draft.

I think that they'll need the cap to go up 2M or more, let Stetcher walk have Ferland retire/LTIR, buyout Sutter and get at least 1 team friendly deal in order to sign Toffoli, Markstrom, Tanev, Virtanen and Gaudette.

Certainly possible but it will take some sharp pencil's.

Trade Stetcher he is an RFA

My .02, i like it.
I raised my eyebrows when i first saw the announcement and expected more outrage here today tho.

I thought the Canucks would not make playoffs this year, predicting they'd slump in the 2nd half of the season.
I think JB saw this coming too and made this move to add some juice while waiting for Boeser and Leivo to heal up.

Cautiously optimistic on our chances at this point.

I like this squad, but feel bad for nighthawk.
The lineup is set!

Because Toffoli is a proven NHL'er and the owner, management and players ALL want to make the playoffs now....now!! That's why. At some point you have to stop saying "next year", it's time to go for it and show the players you've assembled you believe in them and you're going to support them by whatever means possible.

It's risky but the cost wasn't huge if they don't make it or if Toffoli walks, a gamble worth taking and I bet each and every player in that room is pumped that management supports and believes in them enough to make another acquisition to help them reach the post season.

Madden was a great 3rd round pick, but I didnt see him as big of a prospect as others. His PPG in his draft +1 and +2 were lower than gaudette's. Gaudette is a fringe 3C right now. Its essentially the 2nd rounder for toffoli imo. Would have loved if baertschi was the forward going the other way instead of schaller

Sven could still be moved soon or this offseason.

I loved the hype he got . We turned it into a top 6 player. I hope some of our other prospects do the same.

People make way too much out of prospects. Rathbone might be next to go then the sh1t will hit the fan.

- VANTEL

D prospects are more golden. F’s are dime a dozen imo after the 1st round.

Tanev not troy.

Stetcher is cheap we dont have money for Tanman.

- Jkuzzi

Troy is a 3rd pair RHD on a good or better team & out pricing himself here most likely.

I’m not blowing anything out of proportion. I don’t give two poops about Madden. I never thought he was going to be a solid NHL’er. Personally, I don’t think the prospect pool is as good or as deep as you do, but I seem to value having them more than you do. Funny how that works.
- 1970vintage

What good is having them if they don’t develop to the NHL, as you don’t think Madden will...confusing.

For sure there will be. We might see Lind come up to replace Leivo as an example. However this does not obsolve you from YOUR Rosterhawk duties. Time to step up.

Detroit, LA, Anaheim, SJ, CBJ, Ottawa... all the lowest scoring teams in the league. They could all use a PPG 27 year old AHLer to help their transitioning teams....?
