No doubt Ferlands status played a big role in this.
- NorthNuck

Huge part I would say. TSN talked about it in relation to Simmonds – that they were waiting to see how Ferland did before making a trade. Now we see this is where it is.

I have to give it some thought before I form my opinion on it. I will say when I initially saw Maddens name going the other way I was disappointed.

Same same. Kid is having a great year. Might be that they don't see a 5'11" 155 lbs player making it stick in the NHL any time soon in the 3C spot...

Toffoli's been a target ever since JB said this season he wants to add a top 6 forward. Now Bo has two wingers who can score and have grit to rely on.

I dont think madden is my issue. Losing a 2md after.losing a 1st with bad cap management on a rental is just stupid. What are we going for here?

They might also just see him and Gaudette filling the same role down the line, making him expendable. Shockingly C is probably the position the Nucks are deepest at.

Decent trade

On the plus side for most the Canucks will either make the playoffs or fire JB

It’s a win win for most in here

Kid has promising talent but they like Hogs and Pods so much more where do you fit him in? Notice the Canucks are leaning towards adding players to complement Petey and QH who are more beefy and play with grit.

Bo might finally have 2 permanent wingers

Miller-Petey-Boeser
Pearson-Horvat-Toffoli
Roussel-Gaudette-Virtanen
Motte-Beagle-Sutter

How does that rank compared to the rest of the Pacific?

It will be nice to see a full game or two before completely judging the trade. Those lines look good though, that second line has some size and, best of all, doesn't have a Loui on it.

Doesn’t seem to be about the long game anymore. JBs thinking now with the skill he’s assembled.

How long have we been looking for a true second line?

They’ve had several true second lines for the past decade, it’s been the first line that was the problem.

Are you guys missing the point that Loui won't be top 6 and Schaller is no longer a fourth liner?

I don’t mind this. Resigning him might take more mental gymnastics than Benning is capable of, but who knows.

If Bo him and his old line mate gel it will probably make it easier for him to decide.

He has a guy for that, but I agree, without salary going back (beyond this season) I don’t think they can make it fit. If Bear or Sutter or Beagle was going back instead I could see it being more likely.

I like the trade.
- VANTEL

So do I, solid pick up, and the guy gets to play with a young dynamic team. He just may want to play here.

But I can understand the armchair GM’s that worry about everything.

Hope so

Last guy on our team to almost get 30 but not look like he should be anywhere near 30 was Mason Raymond. Brock is just slightly above average trade him now while his perceived value is high

- Jkuzzi

He is a integral part of the team, I know you don’t like him, but he probably isn’t going anywhere.

Now? They were when they traded the 1st.
