If they trade Stetcher they can get that 2nd back, no problem.

Good player, good value but not sure it's the right time to be making this deal.
Hope they can afford to resign him.
Read something a while ago regarding traded prospects which made sense to me. Teams that trade prospects they've developed rarely get burnt on it. Madden has certainly done well so far, it will be interesting to see if he plans out. |

That's my feeling on this as well. Got to give to get. Our top 6 is solid when Boeser gets back. And I don't have to female dog about Schaller any more. Just need to book Loui's rocket trip into the Sun and we are set. - carsonagenic
I'm sure loui was talked about in the trade discussions. |

Bo might finally have 2 permanent wingers
Miller-Petey-Boeser
Pearson-Horvat-Toffoli
Roussel-Gaudette-Virtanen
Motte-Beagle-Sutter
How does that rank compared to the rest of the Pacific? - NorthNuck
That's pretty nice looking lineup. Still guys like Lind, Pods, Hogs in system. It's crazy to say (given this teams failure to acquire picks) we re still pretty good prospect depth wise. At F atleast. |

Not this season Canucks want him for injury depth. Though a reasonable scenario is Hoglander/Lind beats him out for roster spot at training camp. He gets waived like they did to Sven on keeping Gaudette. However, being owed less actual money then he could get with a new contract elsewhere he goes the non report route for mutual termination. |

TB traded firsts for Coleman. To me Toffoli is much better |

So with 37 year old Andy Greene getting a 2nd, what can we get for Benn, Stetcher, and Sutter?
The consensus on here was next to nothing, but Andy Greene? 2nd? |

Toffoli's been a target ever since JB said this season he wants to add a top 6 forward. Now Bo has two wingers who can score and have grit to rely on. - NuckUp

Just crazy what they gave up, but it was about the contract and the player. But Coleman and 3rd vs Miller + Foote + 1st |

No guarantee that TB can resign Coleman in two years. |

It's a big play by JB getting Toffoli now instead of standing pat to try as a UFA signing in summer. He timed it with the knowledge of missing BB for weeks.
If Ferland doesn't retire they will want to keep him on LTIR through next season. This will allow JB to use his cap relief in resigning Toffoli especially if things work out.
Waiving LE for mutual termination (non-reporting) is another move that could happen since LE would be owed less money then he could get signing somewhere else. - NuckUp

Hes a natural goal scorer. I like this trade as long as it wasnt done as a pure rental and he walks in the summer - Codes1087

True. I just can't see how Miller didn't fit there after seeing him here. Skill to play with top guys and grit to lead. Organizational square peg in a round hole I guess. And salary.... |

what seems to be the general consensus on the trade? - manvanfan
In here is much like Twitter. 50/50. People care more about losing the 2nd than madden. I think 99% of everyone is worried about being able to re-sign. If he re-signs, I think it's a good trade. |

That's an interesting thought. And if you think about it, the main core of the forwards are pretty young, so having these now traded draft pick develop in 3-5 years isn't going to hurt that much. They will still have Petey, Brock, Bo in their primes, with Hog and Pod coming over soon too. |

Madden showing potential very near Gaudette. I think with Vans Centers being 24-23-21 it was easier to give Madden away who is in a lesser league than Lind, Podz, Hogs for wingers.
Linus Karlsson is also playing against men in Sweden. Him and Madden are born a week apart.
I know Scott wheeler put Madden as Vans 3rd best prospect but I would have put him closer to 8th. |

What is Rick D talking about Vans pursuit of Lockwood will continue despite Madden trade. What do they have to do with each other? |

I had Madden after Pod Hog Lind Rafferty and OJ .
I keep hearing some people like Cam Robinson saying Rafferty is passing OJ. I don't know if that is true but it is nice to hear. |

Yes its worked out. They are banking on at least one of OJ, Woo, Rathbone and Tryamkin to make top four. Rafferty is an added bonus. |
