The Bruins have found answers to the way Babs did it the last few match-ups there is nothing wrong with trying new things. Better to do it now than game 7 3rd period down by 2

So if Sandin/Lil keep showing they are more than ready for 3rd pairing mins this season...Rielly comes back.

That one all comes down to contract talks with Muzzin. If he wants too much term or too much money, then it's time to reconsider our options, and Dermott is not a trade chip. If Muzzin is in the ballpark, then Dermott may very well be on the move.

One thing I like about Keefe is he realizes trying something new doesn't mean success right away.

AM/Marner looked pretty meh together their first 3/4 games together.

Then in December when Keefe put them together, they lit it up.
I know babs had them play some 5on5 but that was with the reins on.
I’d rather two great lines than one. Am w mm or wn and jt w mm or wn.
They’ll play together tonight but eventually...hopefully back to what it was.
Unless those 3 go on a crazy tear together, then it’s gotta stay for a bit

The two together is a good package. That is the point.

Most trades when you see a team trade a D they get a young D with potential in return...I don't see Dubas adding Sandin/Lil so Dermott is the 2nd piece with value added to a D trade IMO.

I am just saying that isn't talked about enough.

IMHO, it wasn’t the fans demanding him back.

It was more the Leafs’ brass knowing that bringing him back would take the heat off them - they knew it was an aging team in serious decline.

It was a terrible move - which they always did.

I don’t even want to discuss bringing back Wendel a third time.

Interesting footnote: I was at the game when Wendel returned. There was a crazy buzz in the air - like a playoff game.

It was the best game I ever saw Sundin play in a Leafs uniform. He was dangerous every time he stepped on the ice. He clearly was making a statement.

Kerfoot - Tavares - Hyman is a very responsible, smart matchup line. It makes a lot of sense to use them against the other teams top lines and in defensive starts. And then try to free up Marlanderthews for some soft starts and good matchups.
