I don't know how he was kept off the roster last year.. saying he doesn't look out of place in the NHL is an understatement. He consistently does smart, skilled things with, and without the puck, and he is sneaky fast. Good signing... However, Moore impressed in his first year, he's gone. Johnson had an amazing first year, and now we want to trade him, so who knows.

Moore was not just dumped for a conditional 7th rd pick though, he and 2 draft picks got us a backup goalie and a physical winger

Moore impressed because he played a high effort, high energy game. You should when you're only playing 10 minutes a night.

very good signing, but EK you couldn't be more wrong.

Engvall is not a replacement for Gauthier... although he could be. Engvall contributed the most statistically while playing wing further up in the line-up than 4th line.

He should be a strong candidate for a 3rd line winger role, further making Dubas' life easier if he choses to deal one of Johnsson, Kerfoot or Kapanen.

once Mikheyev is available again, then there is yet another option who fits the same mold... and in Mikheyev's case he can and probably should be in the top 6 conversation.

I believe it would interesting to see Engvall on the left side of Tavares with either Nylander or Marner on the right, and evenutally see if Mikheyev can also play in that role.

Both Engvall and Mikheyev are capable of holding onto and controling the puck in traffic far more effectievly than either Johnsson or Kerfoot (my opinion)....

I read that Engvall's agent was asking for $1.24M per year and Dubas demanded he take $1.25M per season or else

People only want to deal Johnsson because of the money he makes. Don't think that will be a problem even if Engvall suddenly regresses.

Leafs are going to sign Grigerenko this summer too.

Engvall-Grigerenko-Mikheyev

3rd line. Send Kappy for D help even if we have to wait until the offseason.

Idiotic Gms are signing worse players for 3+ per for 4th line roles.

But Dubas overpays!

Dubas met with him in Russia and there is a hole at 3C for someone to take.

by Grigerenko did you mean Freakarenko?

and if that would be the new third line... then all of Johnsson, Kerfoot and Kapanen are expendable?

What is it $3.3 for a middle 6 40-50 point guy, locked up for years? Is this considered a bad contract?? Seems better than all the guys making 6-7 scoring 50 points

The freakerenko

And I think Kappy brings you back the most so I trade him first but if some team values Johnnson or Kerfoot more or the same then (frank) ya.

It’s the cheap found wallet line.
