So here's the thing.... Last year Bowman came out and basically said "We fired Joel because we believe in this roster and believe the team is good enough to make the playoffs and then anything can happen".
We all know how last year played out.
This year comes around and Bowman says basically the same thing. "We upgraded the team with our off-season acquisitions and believe this group is good enough to" blah blah blah. Same poop different season.
So...either Bowman and co truly know this team isn't good enough and are just lying to our faces, or they actually believe this team is good enough to win something... either way, they can (frank) right off.
If Stan is held to the standard that HE set the last two years, he should be fired as soon as the Hawks are officially out of the playoffs.
Not only do the Hawks suck again, but Rockford sucks again and the organizational depth is about 2 players away from being absolute ass.
The problem is this: IF the organization knows this team isn't good enough (which they should), the Hawks should not be selling. Bowman shouldn't be allowed to touch the roster and should be ushered out of the building as soon as they're officially out of contention. I don't trust him to sell the team bus let alone any of the players.
BUT...
If Bowman and co really believe this team can compete, then go make some aquisitions. But if they do and the team doesn't vastly improve, that should be the final nail for Stan.
Remember he's the one who set the bar at playoffs.
If this team continues to play like garbage, hopefully Rocky has the stones to hold his front office accountable. - Toew Drags 4 Daze
I said my piece earlier this morning on that, Short version, agree with you, bowman should be fired before the trade deadline, you do not want him making one more move, EVER! And Rocky don’t have any balls, he can’t even name five players on this team other than the ones that were here that won the Stanley Cup‘s. Would much rather see this team go to Peter. |

Lol Saad......pee wees make that pass.
Embarrassing - Hawkytalk
Every game watching this team you see how poorly they do the little things. Saad's pass; Crawford with lots of time putting a pass into Keith's skates and zone doesn't get cleared; Toews unable to take a short pass at the centerline and the puck goes to the Vancouver D man.
A fundamentally poor hockey team. |

Rockford won at Manitoba and Laakinen was a star in the game. Queeneville #13 and Fortin scored and Soderlund back in lineup. Darn it Kurashaev still out injured
Wise as a goal scorer solid offensive player would boost offense/ let us hope he progresses. Wondering how J Slavin is progressing.......only 5 goals in 26 gp collegiate
Saw a Mitchell in Icehogs lineup. Turns out to be Garrett Mitchell, from ECHL formerly 6th round Wash Caps pick.
How about Special K playing well enough to remain in line up. Steeler but then there isn't much choice behind him - the not ready for prime time Gilbert. The prospects at Rockford: Unless they would give Carlsson a llook |

Yeah, that'll change everything. What is another GM going to do with this team that Bowman cannot? They can't move Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook without their permission. They have drafted pretty well recently (with actual first round picks). They've found numerous EU free agents that have varied from useful to outstanding.
I know that he has messed up some deals (and I freely admit Stan has made a number of mistakes - #7 contract being worst), but what the flying heck is changing the owner going to do for the on ice product? |

I don’t have the answer for you, May be premature on that thought, I am willing to (frank)ing bet come the end of the season, Rocky does not make any changes, and as far as contracts goes there are numerous players making more than 19&88. |

Keith has 4 SOG - not one with someone at the net - all right into Markstrom who saw each one cleanly. |

At this point I'd rather he does that then hold it too long and have it go the other way. Our forwards need to stop the fly-bys. |

Don't forget about the blind push'em'back pass to the opposite side of the ice than what Kane is on. That is especially getting annoying. |
